windows printing on samba server
I am trying to get my windows machine to print to my samba server. I
would like to
have it so that each user does not have to have an account. I't just
at my house
so it really is not that bad, but would prefer not to. I have a
directory shared out
which works well with out needing an account. But when I try to look at the
printer from a Win2k machine it says access denied unable to

NUT 2.8.1-3 " Can't claim USB device [051d:0002]@0/0: Entity not found" using usbhid-ups
Hello,
I was thinking about what could be going wrong here, and a few ideas pop
up:
1) If you installed NUT from packaging, there should have been no need to
add OS groups/users manually. There is a valid use-case for running
different daemons under different accounts, as long as they talk over
network and access same files or UNIX sockets at best by sharing a group
for that, but it does need

how can I use lmer on a windows machine?
To whom it may concern:
I am using R version 1.9.1 beta on a windows machine, and I am trying to
use a function called lmer (in packages lme4 and Matrix). I am not sure
if this version will support these packages (when I install them from
the GUI, the function lmer does not work). I wondered if I need to
install a newer version of R, and if so, which version should I install,
and how should I

NUT 2.8.1-3 " Can't claim USB device [051d:0002]@0/0: Entity not found" using usbhid-ups
Hi Jim,
Thanks for your help. I'll respond in the same order as you did:
1. Unfortunately, I did "chown" stuff to these created users... Since
the other three responses don't seem to be what you're looking for (but
that's only my uninformed interpretation), I suppose the problem lies here?
Is there a number of files/directories that I should

9.1 file content
I'm quite happy to see 9.1 out and want to ask polite and
benevolent question:
regarding times on the site, are iso and img files the same
as 2 weeks ago? To remind noble readers. I installed on my
computers what was release at that time and got it up and
working perfectly. In other words, is it the same file?
Best regards and happy new year

stack overflow
Hello,
I am trying to do an ANOVA on a microarray data set consisting of
22690 elements. The ANOVA is fine, but when I try to put the data in
a frame in order to exporting it, I get a stack overflow. I have
found documentation on dynamic memory in R, but not on how to increase
the stack size. The code I'm using is below. If anyone has any
suggestions for a workaround here, I'd

X11 forwarding does not work as normal user
We installed openssh 3.1p1 on our Solaris 2.8 machine using gcc 2.95.2. During
the installation, we modified ssh_config and sshd_config to enable X11 and
agent forwarding.
In sshd_config, we changed the following line to read:
X11Forwarding yes
In ssh_config, we changed the following two lines to read:
ForwardAgent yes
ForwardX11 yes
Both files are set to permission readable

Iphone setup
I would like to setup an iphone to be an extension on my pbx. I have looked
at SIAX as well as Asteriskc2d. Does anyone have any experience with either
of these or another app? The important thing for me is that I can run it in
the background so I can always be available to receive a call. It has to
work over both 3g as well as wifi so I can take advantage of my data plan
and not use minutes

Hide files in samba share using Window
Hi,
The following is done on a samba share:-
When I want to hide files in on the Windows interface, I right-click the file and check on the hidden attribute, but the file still appears there. Must I rename the file with a dot in front in order to hide it? Any alternative to allow the use of Windows interface to hide it?
Thanks.

Installation problem with 2.10 and Solaris 10 (PR#14227)
Full_Name: John Noble
Version: 2.10
OS: Solaris 10 SPARC
Submission from: (NULL) (128.172.190.27)
The make of Recommended fails. All sections of Make work up to this point and
the compiled version of R appears to be correct. Only when adding the
recommended modules does the problem appear. The best I can figure the problem
appears to be related to the fact that gzip will not decompress

An unprofessional message
Dear R helpers,
I understand that this is absolutely unprofessional on my part and this group doesn't entertain such things. I have been associted with this group since last 1 and half years and have been immensely benefited by the noble service rendred by many R helpers.
So I take this opportunity to thank all of you and wish you all
"MERRY CHRISTMAS".
I sincerely apologize

question about lmer--different answers from different versions of R?
To whom it may concern:
I am using lmer for a statistical model that includes non-normally
distributed data and random effects. I used this same function in the
most recent version of R as of fall 2005, and have re-done some of the
same analyses using all of the same files, but with the newest version
of R (2.2.1). I get answers that are not exactly the same (although I
do get the same

does anybody knows how to install Asterisk on a Linksys WRT54G(S)?
I had read in the Wiki that it is possible.
If somebody has a tip, this would help me very much.
