Bonding mode balance-alb (6): How to control the assigned MAC address?
Hi,
we are trying to switch our bonding modes from 1 (active-backup) to 6
(balance-alb). However it seems, that these bond devices are not always
getting the MAC address from the same slave. Sometimes the device gets
the MAC address of the first and sometimes of the second slave. Since
only the MAC address of the first slave device is (can be) registered in
DHCP, this breaks connectivity

[PATCH 1/1] Introduce an option to always pxe-boot a vm.
Previously, a pxe-booted vm would always boot to HD at next startup.

cobbler fails to recognize semanage rules
I am having a bit of trouble setting up cobbler on this machine.
cobbler check points out a few things to correct:
[root at VIRTCENT04:~]#cobbler check
The following are potential configuration items that you may want to fix:
1 : you need to set some SELinux content rules to ensure cobbler
serves content correctly in your SELinux environment, run the
following: /usr/sbin/semanage fcontext -a

CentOS 4.6 - dhcp issue
Hi - On my CentOS 4 cobbler server i am having some odd dhcp issues.
There is only 1 dhcp server on the network and the cobbler box manages
the dhcp. When i kick off the PXE install during the PXE phase things
seem OK then when anaconda tried to get an IP sometimes things work out
fine and other times it sits waiting for hostname/domainname. From the
logs you can see that the mac requesting

pxe booting questions
hello,
I have a situation where I am using PXE and kickstart to
install my machines.
My set up is as follows:
i have a cobbler server which is also an mrepo mirror doing the
booting.
my mrepo tree has both disc1 and disc2 loop mounted, and RPMS.os
symlinks both the discs contens to generate the unified os tree. This all
works fine.
My issue is with the kickstart, if i use the disc1 as the url

pxechain.com and gpxelinux.0 odd behavior
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here, but I would appreciate a pointer.
I have tried to rtfm, but find the docs a little sparse wrt
pxechain.comand gpxelinux.0.
I am trying to setup a pxe chain server (aka chainloading?) where one of
the entries on one pxe server forwards to another (cobbler, in this case).
I know this works fine with traditional pxelinux.0 images, but it's

[PATCH server] cleanup cobbler and put all cobbler traffic on the admin network
This set the cobbler modules dns/dhcp to dnsmasq, removes a duplicate ip replacement in /etc/cobbler/settings, and sets the ip address to the admin network instead of the guest networkwhere it should've been in the first place.

cobbler reposync fails when accessing the CentOS 6 extras repos
Hi everyone,
We are updating local repos from different mirrors using cobbler reposync.
This has been working fine for the longest time but started to fail a few
days ago (see below for failure details).
I first try to use a different mirror but that didn?t help.
This morning, I modified cobbler to disable the auto-update for the
centos/6/extras/i386/ and centos/6/extras/x86_64/ repos.

pxechain.com and gpxelinux.0 odd behavior
I've spent a lot more time with this today, trying to get this working with
4.07, 5.01, and 5.10 ... no luck, but I did have a few follow-up questions.
(1) Should it be possible to use the newer (e.g. 5.10) version of syslinux
and use http:// URLs for both the initial vmlinuz image and also the
initrd? -- As I was doing before with gpxelinux.0? A naive attempt to use

Adding hosts to the hardware pool
Hi there,
I just installed oVirt and cobbler (I'm 100% novice!, so this could be a
100% silly question...). I can't get my initial host into the hardware pool.
It PXE boots through cobbler, then fails with message "WARNING: Cannot find
root file system!" and "Create symlink /dev/root and then exit this shell to
continue the boot sequence."
I suspect I didn't set

Proposals for making configure_from_network function works in f13
Hi
I am running a pxe diskless node in f13 and I have some proposals to make
ovirt-early working in this version.
nash is no more available (nash/mkinitrd is replaced by dracut), so this
following command fails :
"echo "network --device $DEVICE --bootproto dhcp" | nash"
it makes the network configuration incomplete. I replace the linuxrc command by
dhclient and it's

Build fails due to missing ovirt-node-recipe.ks
cc-to ovirt-devel
skipping cobbler seems to be the best solution since
ovirt-node-image-pxe rpm does not exist anymore.
However for this to work you need to add runtime_mode=ovirt in
pxelinux.cfg/default in the kernel boot options.
In the node, it's useful to check /var/log/ovirt.log for correct operation.
