Anyone using GQRX in Centos-7, for SDR ?
Is it a Realtek chipset? I've had problems with it on CentOS as the system will load up the DVB drivers (for TV tuner) thus interfering with the SDR. What worked for me is blacklisting them & reboot. Give it a try. cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_rtl.conf blacklist dvb_usb_rtl28xxu blacklist rtl2832 blacklist rtl2830 BTW there's a new package at

odd sendmail question
I've looked thru all the stuff at sendmail.org (or whatever its name is now, they seem to have gone corporate...) and don't see anything relating to this: I get a series of log entries in /var/log/maillog, once or twice a day at various times--not 12 or 24 hours apart. not always the identical series either. here's the latest one: Oct 27 21:28:55 fcshome sendmail[7939]: starting

umount problem
I've got a usb HD mounted, and it has been mounted since the weekend, and has been kept busy during that period. now I"m done with it an want to umount it, but neither umount nor the on-screen icon (when right-clicked) will let me do it: it is /dev/sdd1, mounted as /media/seagateusb. when root tries to umount it we get this: # umount /media/seagateusb umount: /media/seagateusb: device

Anyone using GQRX in Centos-7, for SDR ?
I gave myself a toy, one of those cheap USB Software Define Radios, and would like to use it on my C7 box. Having wasted some time on it, I gave up and installed Ubuntu on a USB HD so I can boot that to play with SDR. The Ubuntu GQRX installation is well documented and went off without a hitch. but I just hate having to boot something else on my main box (partly because it also runs a mailserver
