Upgrading to CentOS 7
I read in <http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool>
"Warning: use of this tool is currently not recommended as several system-
critical packages are of a higher version number in CentOS 6.6 than they are
in CentOS 7 so those do not get upgraded correctly. This renders yum and
several other system tools non-functional."
Does this still hold?

Hi all,
I received this e-mail from Christer regarding dead links in the CentOS
8.1911 release notes.
Can the maintainer of the CentOS 8 release notes determine what the best
course of action is?? Thanks.

Typo on "TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall" wiki page
Dear all,
On the "TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall" wiki page, the first sentence
under "Download ISO" section should be changed from:
The first thing you will need is once if the ISO's from the CentOS
mirrors.
to:
The first thing you will need is one of the ISO's from the CentOS
mirrors.

In Place Upgrade Tool, CentOS 6 to CentOS 7
Upgrade Tool Docs:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
Make sure you listen to the tool if it tells you that you have Medium,
High, or Extreme issues and mitigate them before trying to upgrade.
You can not upgrade if you have a GNOME or KDE desktop, for example.
Let's give this a try and hopefully we can move this out of testing and
into Extras next week.
Thanks,
Johnny

AFAIK, nothing that's supported. There's the tool available here:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
... but it can leave your system in a broken state.

Upgrade from CentOS6.6 to CentOS 7
Hi All
Is it possible to upgrade from CentOS 6.7 to CentOS 7?
I see there is some attempt at an upgrade tool available, but it's
apparently broken:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
Would anyone be able to recommend a manual upgrade procedure to
upgrade a minimal CentOS 6.7 system to one or other version of CentOS
7?
Many thanks in advance,
Traiano

CentOS Linux 6 to CentOS Linux 7 upgrade tool
We have asked several times on this list (and other places) for someone
from the Community to maintain the Upgrade Tool for c6 to c7 upgrades.
It was maintained for a very short period of time, and now that version
no longer works.
Info about the tool is here:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
If we can not get someone to maintain the tool, we are going to have to

I personally would never do an in place upgrade on a production machine.
Call it a personal bias.
The versions we have released do not work .. there are updates that need
to be refactored and rolled
