wiki content management via automation
Hi the CentOS Cloud images and other things are now built from end to end automated pipelines, but the wiki content corresponding to them isnt. Is there something that can be used to do this automation ? I have done some stuff many many years ago, via directly mangling content on the wiki objects, but that might not be the best way forward. thoughts ? Regards -- Karanbir Singh

Centos 6.9 AWS Images and c4-8xlarge
I asked back in September: https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2016-September/005219.html and again in November: https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2016-November/005257.html about getting c4.8xlarge enabled for the official image in AWS Marketplace: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00NQAYLWO?ref=cns_srchrow Now that the 6.9 release is coming, it would be

status of https://wiki.centos.org/Documentation
Hi, I was having a look at that page, and was wondering what we can do for point #3 (Manuals and other documentation) As we have no real content for CentOS 6 and 7 , my idea was just to explain in one line that (while technically not the CentOS documentation) , almost all the points coming from uptream documentation ( - except for subscription manager - ) can be applied to CentOS and so having

Contributing to the CentOS wiki
Hello all, I'd like to contribute to the CentOS wiki. Per these docs[0], I should email this list with the following information. Username: DanielFarrell Contribution subject: Update CBS Koji Poodle patch docs Contribution location: http://goo.gl/7Oe9QO (CBS HOWTO#Quickstart) I'd like to make the docs related to patching Koji for the Poodle exploit[1] generally more clear. Anaconda: inst.repo doesn't work.
Although you can choose this in the installer, isnt the provided values supposed to be the default? I tired the following inst.repo=hd:/dev/sdb1:/repo Result: /dev/sdb1 is not mounted. inst.repo=nfs:[fc00::6009]:/home/auser/repo Result: NFS is not mounted even the correct ip is set by passing ip= parameters. Of course I tested the NFS share using CentOS itself. Thanks for any assistance!

List attitude and content
hi folks, Can we please: 1) keep it civil, be polite - if you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the thread, then dont contribute anything 2) Keep it on context, this isnt the place to talk about old hardware stories and personal fluffery like that. This is the CentOS users list, keep content to whats relevant to the CentOS users. Regards -- Karanbir Singh +44-207-0999389 |

Thanks for 7.1
Just wanted to say "Thanks!" to the CentOS team for their efforts to put out a 7.1 release. Upgraded several systems, so far smooth sailing. Good job! -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Nux! www.nux.ro

I'd like to contribute to the wiki
Hi! I've written an article on setting up cryptroot on CentOS: http://www.msquared.id.au/articles/cryptroot I'd like to create links to it from a few places in the wiki. For example: * http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos Create a 'security' heading and link to either my article or a page on the wiki that links to my article * http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops

RSS::Parser Documentation
Hi I am trying to use the RSS classes from "rss/2.0" and everything works but I want to know what attributes and properties I can get at from each of the classes I am getting back. For example, the class has a "channel" which I can tell has a "title" attribute (because it works when I query it :) but I would really like a list of every attribute that is

It is sponsored by internal work at Rackspace (but officially unsupported). Thanks, Joshua

cloud-init in CentOS 6.3 images
Good evening, all. I just tried spinning up a CentOS instance in EC2 using ami-de5bd2ee from the AWS marketplace. I put a dummy script into the user-data field when launching the instance from the EC2 console but found it didn't work, even though the SSH key for the root user did. I pinged Karanbir on ##aws and he suggested I post here to get the conversation started. I'm currently

Emailing from Command Line
Thanks for reading, I need certain shell scripts to email me after they are done running. I've installed ssmtp to forward to my internal SMTP server. I have a working ssmtp config on a Gentoo system that works just fine, but on CentOS it's not working. Here's a bounce message: Date: Thu, 13 Jul 2006 13:33:22 -0700 From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON at

KB -- I made those changes several months ago (Sep/Oct I believe), with discussion in IRC. This was after a spate of people in the main channel having issues with Atomic (there's a name that's going to end up causing problems...) and the continued use of RPMForge/RepoForge, with no indication that they're really really bad. As well as the recognition of the reality that there are a

hi guys, we've got more and more people who need edit rights to this page, at https://wiki.centos.org/ContainerPipeline - is it worth doing a ContainerEngGroup and make that group own this page instead of adding usernames to the page itself ? Could someone please replace the contents of http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories with the contents of http://wiki.centos.org/PatrickDGarvey/AdditionalResources/Repositories ? I believe I have removed as much of the link rot on that page as I am capable. If someone believes the links I have provided are not appropriate for the purposes of the article, please let me know.

GFS
Hello: I am planning to implement GFS for my university as a summer project. I have 10 servers each with SAN disks attached. I will be reading and writing many files for professor's research projects. Each file can be anywhere from 1k to 120GB (fluid dynamic research images). The 10 servers will be using NIC bonding (1GB/network). So, would GFS be ideal for this? I have been reading a lot
