kernel 4.9.86-30 missing mpt2sas module
Hi I am attempting to setup Xen 4.10 with kernel 4.9.86-30 ( virt7-xen-410-testing, virt7-common-testing ) on CentOS7 After installing everything, the machine was unable to boot and hung in dracut stating it could not find its root device. The testsystem I use is a somewhat aged Dell M915 Blade (Quad opteron 61xx), using an MPT SAS controller for it's SAS boot drives. Stock CentOS 7

LiveCD problem on IBM BladeCenter remote console ?
I've got a IBM BladeCenter with its integral TCPIP KVM and centos and stuff running on various blades, we use this mostly for software testing purposes in a small development group. i wanted to boot the liveCD so I could try and recover some files from a totally screwed up system (disk got fsck'd beyond what I feel comfortable repairing)... so I map an ISO image of the CentOS 4.4

New 4.9.11-22 kernels and linux-firmware packages to test in xen-testing for CentOS-6 and CentOS-7
Hi So far, I did some preliminary testing using nested virt: host(L0): Fedora 25, kernel-4.9.11-200, kvm+qemu Guest(L1): CentOS 7 Xen-4.6.3-7, kernel-4.9.11-22 So far, at least the L1 setup had no issues. I'll need to pull L1 guest-storage from backup to test some L2 guests. Likewise, I try to allocate two blades at work for tests on real metal. Our standard-tests include starting

lenny + xen reboots sometime
Hello, I have a problem with debian lenny, xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386, 32bit Dom0 und 32bit Domu debian lenny on a IBM BladeCenter. All is working fine and then sometimes the Blade reboots. When I add noreboot in the menue.lst in Dom0 grub then the Server stops working and I have to reboot manually. There are no error messages in the logs. The period the server reboots is variable. Sometime it

menu.c32: CPU Fault on console 0
Hi, I hit a rather strange problem. I'm PXE booting an IBM Blade. It has a BMC which provides serial over LAN via the BladeCenter management module. Its BIOS has a "Console Redirection" option, which dumps its VGA console messages to a serial port. "Redirection after Boot" is disabled, but pxelinux runs "before boot", so everything arrives twice on the serial

cannot kickstart centos 6 on Dell Blade error cannot find c0t0
I have an intermittent problem with my Dell blades, out of 80 blades 69 of them kickstarted Centos 6 fine using PXE The other 11, I get a c0t0 not found error (indicating it is not finding the local disk on the blade). I can remote mount the iso image and do a basic install of centos on these blades, but when I go to do a pxe boot it gives me that error again. I have googled the issue and

Xen serial console on Bladecenter virtual serial port
Has anyone accessed Xen or the dom0 Linux serial console on the virtual serial port of a Bladecenter blade via Serial-over-LAN? Was able to see bios boot screen and access grub boot menu, but only the first few characters of the kernel boot sequence are shown, then nothing. Xen console on Bladecenter remote KVM
Hello list, when using Xen on our Bladecenter with the advanced management module everything works fine, but as soon as I switch the KVM to another blade and then switch back to xen machine, vga output is unavailable (due to wrong resolution or hz frequency? But it works if I don''t switch away). The machine itself works, only vga output is gone after switching kvm away from the box.

R and Openmpi
Hello, We have R working with Rmpi/openmpi, but I'm a little worried. Specifically, (a) the -np flag doesn't seem to override the hostfile (it works fine with fortran hello world) and (b) I appear to have twice as many processes running as I think I should. Rmpi version 0.5.5 Openmpi version 1.1 Viglen HPC with (effectively) 9 blades and 8 nodes on each blade. myhosts file contains

question re ip rules logic

Is there a howto for using redboot to kickoff a pxelinux boot?
The subject says it all. I'm using rocks cluster software to startup a small blade cluster in my lab. The blades I have redboot installed on them. I am able to boot any client that has pxeboot capability using my setup, except for these blades. My thoughs were using redboot commands to do the following: 1. load -v -r -b 0x8000000 -h 10.1.1.1 pxelinux.0 2. start This however caused my

Asterisk on Dell blade servers
We've been asked to quote for a large cluster running Asterisk and our ITSP in a box product. The system will be SIP throughout, with mixed codecs. We're considering using Dell blade servers, 1855 or similar, on the grounds that we normally use Dell machines and they work well, but we need higher rack density. Has anyone used these? Any feedback on whether they're

Problem with blades that wont kickstart
About 15% of my blades wont kickstart. I checked to see, and they all seem to be 100% compatible. I currently do not own/direct access the kickstart server, I will build one later. Is it possible they fat fingered the MAC address of the problem blades when they put them into the PXE server? As I can build them from a locally mounted virtual CD, but cannot build from PXE At first I was
