net passthrough (hostdev) and external DNS problem - libvirt host claims DNS update
hi everybody
I'm having I pretty regular setup, so I'd like to think.
Guest network is to use passthrough and a DNS+DHCP on a
neighbour system gets requests and then DHCP updates DNS
records but with libvirt host's name instead of guest's.
Am I missing something here?
How do make a guest claim DNS update and the not host on
which that guest is running?
many thanks

Questión about DNS config on dnsmasq
Hello guys...
I'm using libvirt in my local laboratory and I have a question/problem
about DNS settings over dnsmasq (by libvirt)
I have a NAT network separately from my real network, i need simulated some
DNS hosts to NAT network like ftp.debian.org (for testing purposes, etc)
This is for example a dumpxml (yes, i'm using PXE boot for testing and is
working fine)

Specify DNS and gateway for dnsmasq
Hi all,
how I can set dhcp options as DNS, gateway, etc in libvirt's network
definitions?
From what I read here[1], I can use the <option> tag. However, I can
not find nothing on libvirt official documentation.
I am missing something?
Thanks.

libvirt network without dns ?
Hey,
I've opened a bug against ubuntu at [1]. I realize this is probably not
a high priority, but I was just curious if it is possible to have libvirt
configure a network and *not* run a DNS server on it (dnsmasq). Perhaps I
could convince libvirt to run dnsmasq with '--port 0'?
For my explicit use case i was hoping/expecting to run my own dns and
dhcp servers, possibly a

IAX dns lookups
Hi all
Do any of you know i can force asterisk to lookup ip
addresses for peers and
trunks everytime it tries to make a call.
One of the peers has a dynamic ip and is using DynDNS
to register host. Now
i need to reload asterisk everytime i want to call it
thanks

Providing fallback DNS servers via DHCP
Hello everyone,
TL;DR: Is ist possible to provide a secondary DNS (e.g. 8.8.8.8) via
DHCP in addition to the gateway (in my case 10.0.1.1)?
I use libvirt to manage all my qemu-based VMs. I have set up a local
NAT-network which includes all my VMs (and some physical servers
integrated via VPN). Everything works fine, but ocassionally, I have to
restart the network (when I add instances for

The default GW depends on the IP address you assigned to your network:
<ip address='192.168.122.1' netmask='255.255.255.0'/>
This says the default GW is 192.168.122.1/24. However, you can insert

FYI mail problems for libvirt lists
It has come to our attention that many, possibly even all, people with
non-redhat.com email addresses are unable to send mail to most libvirt
mailing lists, receiving bounce messages saying the address doesn't
exist eg
