enable aes for guest
Hi, How do I enable aes for guest VM? Host CPU supports aes (cat /proc/cpuinfo has aes in its flags and virsh capabilities also displays aes as a feature). When I add <features> <aes/> </features> to the xml file, I am unable to create the VM. It complains with the below error: virsh create /tmp/tmp.xml error: Failed to create domain from /tmp/tmp.xml error: internal error:

configuring a lxc guest to run 32bits from a 64bits host under libvirt-lxc
Hi there I have a couple of newbie questions concerning running a 32bits guest in a 64bits host using libvirt - lxc; I’m running libvirt-1.2.5 on fedora18 and fedora20 (a) is this supported at all, and (b) if so how do I configure this for a given guest ? guessing from the mere existence of http://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2011-February/msg01040.html I would think the answer to (a) is

How to trigger a script in a guest after resume? (aka guest system clock incorrect after host reboot with suspended guest)
Hi Is there a way i can trigger a script within a libvirt guest immediately after resume? E.g. i don't see any log message that indicates to a guest that it had been paused and was just woken up. The problem that i am trying to solve is that when i reboot the host (pausing all guests), the guests' system clocks are a few minutes late after resume. The guests RTC (current_clocksource =

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Drop superfluous DRM_SWITCH_POWER_DYNAMIC_OFF checks
nouveau's ->suspend and ->resume callbacks are currently skipped if the device's status is either DRM_SWITCH_POWER_OFF (powered off by vga_switcheroo manual power control) or DRM_SWITCH_POWER_DYNAMIC_OFF (runtime suspended). In the former case this makes sense since the device is powered off behind the PM core's back: It will try to execute the ->suspend and ->resume

Live Migration with different hardware
Hi all, I''m brand new to Xen and this list. I''m planning on using Xen. Especialy I''m interested in the Live Migration Feature. Somewhere I read that the hardware must be identical. What does this mean? Will migration work from a P4 to a Xeon (Core2 Mircoarchitecure) ? Will migration work if they got different NIC? What are the limitations? Maybe someone does already

duplicated notifications for suspend and resume
Hello, I am using domain event notifications from libvirt-event API in my application and it seems to work fine, except for 'suspend' and 'resume' events where I keep receiving duplicated notifications. Similarly, the example provided with libvirt (in examples/object-events/event-test) also produces twice as much notifications for 'suspend' and 'resume' than for

redirecting guest serial to file on the host
Greetings, I have a vm to which I can access using virsh console vm1/ I'd like in addition to be able to dump the serial of the vm in to a file on the host. I've found this https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/6/html/virtualization_administration_guide/sub-section-libvirt-dom-xml-devices-host-interface but it seems that the first second example which

Hi, I have tried usb and it doesn’t work. I don’t know if the filesystem tag could work… I find in the formatdomain docs about the filesystem: <filesystem type='mount' accessmode='passthrough'> <driver type='path' wrpolicy='immediate'/> <source dir='/export/to/guest'/> <target
