Cannot get Sound-Output via pulseaudio
Hi, i am currently trying to get my qemu-bashscripts to run via libvirt. It took some time but my first VM seems to work okay. My main problem is Sound. I run a pulse audio service and when starting the vm via Commandline it sends sound to the pulseaudioserver just fine However when i start the vm via libvirt i cannot get any sound output, pavucontrol shows no connected application. USB audio on Centos-7
I'm using Centos-7 on my PC, with ASUS motherboard. internal audio has always worked fine EXCEPT that I can never get audio input (for recording) to work. I want to feed audio from a phono turntable and from a cassette deck. I use a phono preamp for the turntable, or directly connect the tape deck. but either nothing, or low level with horrible distortion. so, I gave up (after years of

Using Pulse Audio--question
Hi all! This seems to me as if it should be a trivial thing to do, but so far I've wasted a lot of time on it and gotten nowhere: I want to feed audio from a source (ipod, other player) into the audio input on my C7 box via either the phone jack or an external USB sound "card" I have, then I want to play it via the speakers connected to the system. I can find no way to do it with

pulseaudio/wine question
When people have audio trouble with programs in wine the first suggestion is always to remove pulseaudio, I'm not questing that - it often fixes the problem, but I do wonder if there are plans to make wine and pulseaudio work better together? Each new version of the major Linux distros seems to make pulse harder and harder to remove without messing up the system. Outside of wine pulse is

Question 6.3 pulseaudio
Hi I am experimenting with pulseaudio. I have everything working as a normal user which is the correct way. However, I have an application that runs as root that wants to use sound. My /etc/asound.conf is all set for pulse. I tried doing "gpasswd -a root pulse-access" and restarted my application but that did not help. Was wondering if someone has ran into this and knows a trick.

Why not pulseaudio?
Pulseaudio works great in wine using the modified wine from the Neill Aldur ppa. Tried everything else (padsp, pasuspender, blah) and nothing would work reliably. Some crashes when another application outputs sound, sometimes the sound does not work at all, sometimes it is awfully slow or with latency varying while recording, leading to unpredictable offsets in recorded files. Using pulseaudio

pulseaudio wine
Hi. I can confirm that pulse does indeed work quite well with wine. I've been using oss emulation and padsp together for a long time now, and I've had very few if any problems with it. I simply use Code: aoss padsp wine whatever and it's fine. I don't know if I need to use padsp after aoss after reading this thread, but it's what I've been doing. So pulse does mostly

using Skype on C-7
Hi I've whined about this before, but now I feel the overwhelming urge to whine some more. Forgiveness begged... :) I've spent some very frustrating times trying to get a microphone to work when doing skype calls. According to the various sound tools available on Centos all the various mics I have (built into webcam, analog headset, USB headset)produce sound just fine. but when using

Wine 1.1.28 on Mandriva - PulseAudio? - Only get OSS option
Is there any way I can get PulseAudio working with Wine 1.1.28? I just compiled (first install on this OS) of Wine from the website, and I only had the choice of OSS as my driver. Surprisingly this made a test sound, but as I thought it does not work at the same time as Pulse. So how can I get Pulse, ESound, ALSA support for a compiled version of Wine on Mandriva 2009.1?

pulseaudio question and console
If I login as a user and run asterisk it connects to pulse and runs. if I login as root and run the command su user -c "asterisk -vvvvvc" it does not connect to pulse and run. I thought su ran as that user - am I missing something to get the su command to run correctly and connect to pulseaudio as that user. Thanks, Jerry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

PulseAudio is streaming with an excessive latency.
I'm running centos 6, just did a yum update, and still cannot get sound from vlc. The entire message (reformatted): Potential PulseAudio version problem: PulseAudio is streaming with an excessive latency. Sound may be lost or quality degraded. To address that issue, upgrade the PulseAudio daemon to version 3.0, or disable the alternate sampling rate in its configuration I can find

anybody else had this problem since the CR updates?
I'm running Mate on my C7 boxen, a desktop and a netbook.\ Mate comes from epel, so it's probably not a CentOS problem, but lemme ask here in case anybody else has seen it: some tools (nm, pavucontrol, and possibly others I haven't noted down) no longer have the correct formatting on screen. there are no backgrounds, i.e., backgrounds that define areas of the screen by shading or

Re: pulseaudio under ubuntu lucid
Update on this topic. I have just bought a new computer (My previous one was 8 years old and showing its age) and I tried timidity instead of fluidsynth. Midi playback works fine on both the midi player and notation processor in Wine with Pulse Audio enabled.

Pulseaudio
Hi, I get this error message: ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused It does not say connection to what, ?????? And is this a matter of permission??? This is C7 latest and greatest. Any ideas??? Adrian -- Adri P. van Bloois "Elegance is not a dispensable luxury but a factor that decides between success and failure." Edsger W.

Alsa pulseaudio & procmail
Hi, I'm using a program called morse to generate morse code signals when mail is received. This is done by calling this program depending on de subject or from of the incoming mail. C7, pulseaudio, multi-user setup
Hello there, I'm on a CentOS7 laptop, in a Mate session w/ my default user, and in that desktop, I run apps from other users using sudo, su. It appears that apps started using sudo or in terminals+su, can't play sound: [pulseaudio] main.c: User-configured server at {f7ac68929370425d82f882c116a21597}unix:/run/user/1000/pulse/native, refusing to start/autospawn.
