Libvirt daemon usage question
I could use some help with clarification on the use of the libvirtd daemon with regards to managing remote KVM instances. Right now I have a CentOS 6 KVM server (libvirt-0.8.1), but would like to use some management applications that require higher version (0.8.8). First, is it possible to run the libvirtd daemon from within a VM, or does it require active kvm kernel module? Secondly, could a

Building libvirt 1.2.13 from source
Hello I am trying to build libvirt 1.2.13 (latest) from source on a Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit box. After installing all the dependencies (libyajl, libdevmapper, libpciaccess, libnl), I could finish the build and install. However, invoking libvirtd throws this: root@ubuntu:/home/hvishwanath/Downloads/libvirt-1.2.13# libvirtd libvirtd: /usr/lib/libvirt-qemu.so.0: version `LIBVIRT_QEMU_1.2.3' not

Running virConnectGetCapabilities / virsh capabilities without a daemon or KVM
For virt-p2v we want to get the host CPU model, topology etc, and the best way we found to do that was to pull it from libvirt capabilities[1]. Since libvirt is already parsing the host CPU information, and because /proc/cpuinfo is such a stupid format to parse, this is very convenient. Unfortunately it doesn't work unless libvirtd _and_ KVM are both installed. Without libvirtd installed:

Installing libvirt
Hi,  I am trying to install new libvirt version on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Now I downloaded libvirt 1.0.5 from libvirt.org/sources then I issued three commands: ./autogen.sh make make install This installs the libvirt on my system. But there are some issues, I have to run libvirtd explicitly everytime I reboot my system. And whenever I try to run virt-manager from terminal, it says "No D-Bus

Re: Need to increase the rx and tx buffer size of my interface
Hi Michal, I installed the latest version from the git and did run the libvirt from the new directory using /home/to/your/checkout/daemon/libvirtd But I still see that the version is 1.3.1. I have also stopped the already running libvirt daemon and ran the new daemon from the directory and it is showing 1.3.1 Best Regards, Ashish Kurian On Thu, Oct 26, 2017 at 10:50 AM, Ashish Kurian
