Managing eths in vm from HV
KVM Ubuntu 12.04 libvirt 1.0
Related to my post of a day ago, but I can't reply to it...
I want to control the order ( and therefore the connection) of eth devices in the vm. If I know what the MAC addresses
are on my HV, as seen in virsh domiflist or in dumpxml, and I then re-write the /etc/udev/rules/70 file in the VM, I can
get the eth devices ordered in a predictable way.
Is there a

3.0.11 + idealx 0.8.7 joining workstation to domain not working -see why
Hi,
After playing around with Samba 3.0.11 with smbldap-tools v0.8.6 and
later with v0.8.7 it seems that joining workstations to domain with
'smbldap-adduser -w ws001' is not possible because it generates LDAP
entries only as objectclass posixAccount and objectclass sambaSamAccount
is missing. So joining domain from workstation or making Computer
account with smbldap-useradd -w

Error starting stubdom HVM on Xen-3.4.3-rc4-pre
Hi there,
Last night I was trying to start a HVM domU via stubdom-dm device model. Initially I did not receive any error to stdout when I did so with Xen-3.4.2.
My Xen-3.4.2 installation works fine with qemu-dm (or regular HVM guests). The stubdom-dm guest I was trying to create did not really operate as I was unable to connect to the VNC console. The output of xm list showed the DomU was there,

Please check the dnsmasq hostsfile, should have all the records there:

Re: libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
Hi,
It looks like that's the issue:
# cat /var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/osc_mgmt.hostsfile
52:54:00:2c:85:92,192.168.80.1,openstack-controller-00
But it makes me wonder...libvirt should be generating and managing this
file right? Do I need to edit this myself or should libvirt be updating
this file? If so then why isn't it?

correct steps to add XEN bridge to Debian squeeze?
Hi all,
Does anyone know what the correct steps are to add a XEN bridge, let''s
say xenbr0 to Debian Squeeze?
I have added the following to /etc/network/interfaces
# XEN Bridge
auto xenbr0
iface xenbr0 inet manual
bridge ports eth0
bridge_stp off
bridge_fd 0
And then rebooted the server but brctl show still shows eth0 as bridge:

VM migration upon shutdown in centos 7
Hi,
I have CentOS 7, two node system which allows live VM migration between
them. Live migration triggered from virsh is happily happening. I am using
GlusterFS for replicating VM disk files.
Now I want to automatically do the live migration at the time of
reboot/shutdown/halt of the host node and for this I have written a systemd
service unit [vPreShutdownHook.service] and placed the live
