Re: question about libguestfs
Hi, Mr. Rich. I am sorry that I left too little information in the last email because I edited with my mobile phone. I wrote about my first question in the following link. https://rwmj.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/libguestfs-inspection-now-lists-windows-apps/ 2nd. Question After I call the mount_local() function in guestfs.py to operate on a disk, I hope to umount it. After calling the

There's not really enough information here to help. What you should do is enable debugging: https://libguestfs.org/guestfs-faq.1.html#debugging-libguestfs That will produce a lot of output which can

[RFC] fuse: mount_local: Fix crash when called from Java binding
"localmountpoint" parameter is allocated in JNI before calling mount_local and freed afterward. But guestfs handle keeps reference to passed "localmountpoint" argument and will try to use and free it in umount_local which leads to a crash because an attempt to access already freed memory region. It is not easy to fix on JNI side because the code is auto-generated. And I

[PATCH] gobject: Move headers into a subdirectory
The gobject bindings generate a large number of header files, which pollute /usr/include when installed. This patch moves them all into a guestfs-gobject/ subdirectory. guestfs-gobject.h remains in the same place. This change also moves generated source files into src/, because it makes the gobject directory a bit tidier. --- generator/Makefile.am | 3 +

Proposed changes for OpenStack
[These two patches are for discussion only] Allow FUSE support to be used directly through the API. This is the second commit. In order to make this usable from guestfish, we have to also bind the events API in guestfish. This is the first commit. Rich.

[PATCH v3] New APIs: mount-local, mount-local-run and umount-local using FUSE
This changes the proposed API slightly. Previously 'mount-local' generating a 'mounted' event when the filesystem was ready, and from the 'mounted' event you had to effectively do a fork. Now, 'mount-local' just initializes the mountpoint and you have to call 'mount-local-run' to enter the FUSE main loop. Between these calls you can do a fork or whatever

How to test my patch before I post it to public?
Hi , All I 'm a green hand and interested in open source development. I have a general question “How to test my patch before I post it to public?” Hope you guys give me some suggestions. : ) Firstly, I can re-compile the code, to assure no syntax error. However,I don't know how to test my patch's function is right or not. Some software requires unit test for each function. Is there

Concurrent scanning of same disk
Greetings, I am suffering of several weird errors which show randomly and make me suspect some concurrency issue. Libguestfs version is 1.28.1, linux kernel 3.16, libvirt 1.2.9 and qemu 2.1. What I'm trying to do is comparing the disk state at two different point of a guest execution. Disk snapshots are taken through libvirt in different moments (I am aware of caching issue), from such

[PATCH 0/8] python: PEP 8 fixes
Hi, this series cleans up the Python sources, either static or generated, including also tests, to make them PEP 8 compliant; see https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/ and tools like pep8. Almost all the issues reported by pep8 are fixed, reducing the issues from 3818 to 7. The changes should have no effect on the actual code, while it will help Python users with consistency with other

Python Hivex Assertion Failed
Good afternoon, I am working with the hivex python bindings and having trouble with an assertion failure. The code I run is based on the blog post from 11/28/10 and is: import hivex h = hivex.Hivex("ntuser.dat") r = h.root() key = h.node_get_child(r) The assert failure happens when I call any of the "node" functions, even "node_name()". The error message I get
