*** buffer overflow detected *** accessing invalid FD in libguestfs
We have extended collectd virt plugin to extract info about disk usage from a libvirt domain using libguestfs. In addition to my previous mail I am attaching some more infomration about the problem. Currently the collectd plugin works fine and retrieves the required statistics. The problem that I face happens after certain number of cycles (getting disk usage statistics). Collectd is terminated

virt-customize is very slow in ubuntu 18.04/centos 7.5
Hi all, Sorry for bothering you in this dev mailing list, I'm using libguestfs to customize some vm using as bases the ubuntu cloud images. But I noticed that it takes a lot and then fails when trying to install a packet. Same behaviour on Ubuntu 18.04 and Centos 7.5 Ubuntu: virt-customize 1.36.13 libvirtd (libvirt) 4.0.0 Centos: virt-customize 1.36.10rhel=7,release=6.el7_5.2,libvirt

Re: guestfs_launch() fails when C application is started as a systemd service
Thank you, Rich, This was the issue indeed. export LIBGUESTFS_BACKEND=direct fixed it. The next step I tried was to integrate libguestfs in collectd virt plugin to collect this data automatically. In this case I'm having an unknown error in add_libvirt_dom() (same with add_domain) when it's invoking qemu-img to create overlay image. There is no difference between manual and service

Announce: collectd module -- managing a statistics collection daemon
Hi all! Thanks to funding from neoTactics, Inc.[1] I was able to implement a set of native type managing collectd''s config files wrapped into a handy module as a stepping stone towards a generalized monitoring resource. Collectd ======== Collectd is a very lightweight system statistics gathering daemon. To quote from http://collectd.org/ : > [...] it''s written in C for
