FYI: Changes to libguestfs.org web hosting
The former libguestfs.org website was running on an old server in a cellar with "Beware of the Leopard" on the door. The server was overdue for retirement and is about to be decommissioned. I have moved and split up the hosting as follows: * The main website http://libguestfs.org is on a temporary server. The medium term plan is to move it to Openshift, but I've been having a

FYI: New Fedora tracker bugs for things that break libguestfs
I'm tracking Fedora 18 & Rawhide issues that stop libguestfs from working here (that is, for non-libguestfs bugs): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=910270 (Fedora 18) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=910269 (Rawhide) (Note the dependent bug lists aren't complete yet) Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones

FYI: policycoreutils setfiles is broken in Fedora 26
Policycoreutils, which includes the 'setfiles' utility which we use, is badly broken in Fedora 26. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1433577 This bug affects a few things because it completely breaks SELinux relabelling. In particular, firstboot functionality fails on Fedora guests because the installed scripts are not labelled correctly. Rich. -- Richard Jones,

FYI: Some changes to libguestfs / libguestfs-winsupport / virt-v2v / virt-p2v in RHEL 7.2
libguestfs is a set of tools for reading and modifying disk images and virtual machines. virt-v2v and virt-p2v are tools for converting guests from foreign hypervisors (especially VMware, Xen), or physical machines, to run on KVM (eg. virt-manager, OpenStack/RHOS or oVirt/RHEV). This is just a heads-up about some changes to the way libguestfs and related packages will be packaged in RHEL 7.2.

FYI: gtk-doc support dropped in 1.36.13
We dropped support for gtk-doc in the current development branch (1.37). It was the slowest part of the build and added nothing of value. I replaced it with a guestfs-gobject manual page[1] which, along with the regular documentation, explains the topic of building gobject bindings much more clearly. http://libguestfs.org/guestfs-gobject.3.html In the meantime GNOME dropped a feature of

Plan for libguestfs 1.14
[Since Hilko asked me about this on IRC ...] The current plan is to rebase libguestfs in RHEL 6.3: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=719879 I would like to get as many features from upstream libguestfs into this as possible, but also make sure they have been well-tested by Fedora users. Also there are some new tools arriving in libguestfs upstream in the current development branch

FYI: Large build change -- removed separate daemon/configure.ac
http://git.annexia.org/?p=libguestfs.git;a=commitdiff;h=60d5a50f4d3d9e2c2f5a7d42a6859de709bda3f6 Originally I had the daemon directory use a separate configure script, because we thought we would recompile the daemon for multiple different architectures, so that we could have libguestfs able to run commands in guests which have a different architecture from the host. Well, that didn't really
