[PATCH 0/3] tests: Define common test functions.
Previously I posted a work-in-progress preview of this patch series: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-February/msg00224.html This is the finished version that updates all of the shell-script based tests. It passes 'make check', 'make check-direct' and 'make check-slow'. Rich.

[PATCH [WIP] 0/3] tests: Define common test functions.
There's a lot of common code in the tests, eg: if [ "$(guestfish get-backend)" = "uml" ]; then echo "$0: test skipped because UML backend does not support network" exit 77 fi These commits (work in progress) create a common set of test functions for skipping tests etc. Rich.

Getting the commit message from Phabricator
I'm not sure if this is well known, but it helped me so I thought I'd share it with you. When committing to gitmonorepo, (with git llvm push) you need to have committed to your local repo first and so you need to have crafted your commit message from your the Phabricator revision. (e.g. D12345) Phabricator has the ability to give you this commit message it would have used, even if you do

[PATCH v2 3/3] v2v: add -o json output mode
Add a new output mode to virt-v2v: similar to -o local, the written metadata is a JSON file with the majority of the data that virt-v2v knowns about (or collects) during the conversion. This is meant to be used only when no existing output mode is usable, and a guest needs to be converted to run on KVM anyway. The user of this mode is supposed to use all the data in the JSON, as they contain

[PATCH 0/2] v2v: glance: Allow Glance backend to import multiple disks
This patch series lifts the previous restriction that virt-v2v would refuse to convert a guest to Glance that had more than one disk. The first patch is just better documentation for the Glance output mode. The second patch contains the change (best viewed with 'git diff -w' since it is mostly a whitespace change). virt-v2v -o glance will now create multiple disks called: - guestname

Curious warning in R for OS X w/Xwindows
I recently reformatted my TiBook and reinstalled everything from the system up. After installing Apple's version of XWindows and the XWindows version of R 1.7.0, I ran the two and got a strange warning: ----- R : Copyright 2003, The R Development Core Team Version 1.7.0 Patched (2003-05-14) R is free software and comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. Problem with winecfg on Red Hat Linux
A colleague insalled Wine for me on a 32-bit Red Hat Linux server yesterday. I am not trying to install an application called LIMDEP under Wine. The documentation says to start a script called winecfg. When I invoke that script, all I get is a gray box on my screen with a few tabs. No text appears on the screen. If I click on some of the tabs, there are drop-down menus, which also have no text.

Re: [PATCH 3/3] v2v: add -o json output mode
If we pushed the baseline of OCaml up by (I think) just a single version then most of this code could be generated automatically from the description in the Types module. It would rely on the "new" (actually rather old) feature called extension points (ppx) which I think was added in 4.02. However in its own terms the idea behind this patch is fine. As I said in the previous email

[PATCH] customize: allow missing SELINUXTYPE in SELinux config
libselinux defaults to "targeted" when no SELINUXTYPE is specified in /etc/config/selinux. Hence do the same here, instead of failing because of the missing key. Add a slow test for checking SELinux relabeling on a Fedora 27 guest, both with no changes, and with a modified configuration. --- customize/Makefile.am | 2 ++ customize/SELinux_relabel.ml | 14 ++++++++++--

[nbdkit PATCH v2] tests: Accommodate qemu-img 4.1 output change
Where qemu-img 4.0 used to say 'virtual size: 100M', the 4.1 release now says 'virtual size: 100 MiB'. Similarly, '5.0G' turned into '5 GiB'. But rather than worry about potential future changes to the human-readable output, we can just use --output=json (at which point we no longer even have to force qemu-img to the C locale). It might be slightly more robust to
