Hi, I am trying to do a very minimal install of Slackware to run Asterisk on. Can anyone give me a list of what packages I need to install as I don't want X an all the associated bloat? Thanks in advance. Chris -- -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[PATCH 2/4] p2v: fix dependencies for SLES / openSUSE
Use the common denominator for SLES and openSUSE in the dependencies. For example most of NetworkManager pieces and metacity aren't provided on SLES. ifconfig is in the net-tools-deprecated package in openSUSE Factory, which means after openSUSE Leap 42.2. Older versions have it in the net-tools package. Adding this complexity only to add ifconfig because sysadmins prefer it isn't too

When are Logwatch errors really errors
Hi All, I don't know enough about when errors are *really* errors. So I google a lot to read and learn. I have a few things in my Logwatch that I want to make sure I understand 1. smartd **Unmatched Entries** Problem creating device name scan list Device /dev/sda: using '-d sat' for ATA disk behind SAT layer. Device /dev/sdb: using '-d sat' for ATA disk behind SAT layer.

I am trying to a install Centos 5.1 32-bit Xen HVM DomU onto a Centos 5.1 64bit DomU with the default xen installed and the kickstart hangs at random points during the install process. Sometimes retrieving the image, sometimes formatting the filesystem, sometimes installing the packages, etc. I tried upgrading to xen 3.2 and encounter the same problem before rebuilding back to stock Centos 5.1

OT: missing /dev paths
Looking for help kind of in a hurry. I've been searching google but not finding any options. Is there any way to fix missing /dev paths to luns without rebooting? For example, see the output from lsscsi below. The only way I know to fix this is with a reboot, but I REALLY Need to avoid that if possible. Anyone using CentOS 6 on PC104 stacks?
Is anyone using CentOS 6 on PC104 stacks? I have tried a couple of different CPU cards with CentOS 6.5 [no updates]. I can install with the Install DVD to the PATA hard drive just fine, but they each hang up while the installed system is trying to get UDEV going. And by "hang up" I mean a) leave the machine setting for hours and it never gets udev started, AND b) the keyboard has gone

Any plans to update kernel-utils for newer smartmontools
I have SATA drives and have found that the newest smartmontools package will retrieve smart data from SATA drives with the '-d ata' switch. Is there a devel/testing package of kernel-utils available or should I just roll my own? Rik

CentOS bootstrapper for chroot(2) environment
Hi, just some script built along: Unattended install & run CentOS-4.1 just using chroot(1). Mostly a surprise for me it was so easy to reach that goal. It requires rpm(1) based host OS and it was tested only on Fedora Core 4. I needed it to do only a bit customized CentOS kernel package rebuild. [PATCH 0/4] virt-p2v support for openSUSE / SLES
Hi there, Here are a few patches to get virt-p2v working on openSUSE and SLES. Note that I intentionnaly use icewm and yast2 lan for SLES and openSUSE since SLES doesn't ship metacity and all of NetworkManager pieces. Hello Julius, Thanks - but it doesn't seem to work. I installed sg3_utils and ran #scsi-rescan but that seemed to have done nothing for some reason. Cheers, Boris. ks.test (PR#1004)
The note to 1004 says "fixed for 1.3.1" Uh. No. It ain't. The problem was more serious than guessed as even the simplest testing would show. For example, Example 5.4 in Hollander and Wolfe (Nonparametric Statistical, Methods, 2nd ed., Wiley, 1999, pp. 180-181) R Version 1.3.1 (SuSE Linux 7.1) > X <-
