Re: enable build for ocaml bytecode
I believe this patch has now been superseded by Hilko's commit here: https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs/commit/f75142c577255b30f2a8e1d27baa5fd185594197 Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones Read my programming blog: http://rwmj.wordpress.com Fedora now supports 80 OCaml packages (the OPEN alternative to F#)

[PATCH] build: add simple custom silent rules for automake
Add makefile variables to enable silent rules for simple command invocations, such as ocamlc, ocamlopt, javac, and erlc. This reduces the log output when building with silent rules, still showing the full command lines otherwise. --- erlang/Makefile.am | 2 +- java/Makefile.am | 6 +++--- ocaml/Makefile.am | 14 +++++++------- subdir-rules.mk | 20 +++++++++++++++++--- 4 files changed,

[nbdkit PATCH] build: Install ocaml files relative to --prefix
Rather than always trying to install ocaml files into $(OCAMLLIBS), which is likely to be root-owned and therefore fail during a './configure --prefix=$HOME/subdir', we instead choose to always install relative to $(prefix) and let distro packagers take steps post-install to move the distro's pre-built copy into the correct location for the distro. This fixes a 'make

[PATCH v2] daemon: Use a configure-time test to find the best OCaml runtime.
In OCaml 4.06 we need to link to daemon to libasmrun_pic.a (the OCaml runtime linked with -fPIC). Otherwise you will see many errors like this: /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib64/ocaml/libasmrun.a(startup_aux.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib64/ocaml/libasmrun.a(startup.o): relocation

[nbdkit PATCH] ocaml: Make build VPATH aware
The ocaml.opt compiler defaults to building things in the same directory as its input; we need explicit -o options to build in a VPATH $(builddir) when $(srcdir) is read-only (as is the case during 'make distcheck'). We also have to build any side effect files explicitly in cases where we can't directly use -o to control those outputs alongside the final product. Thanks: Richard W.M.

[PATCH 0/8] Fix valgrind tests.
Since we switched to using parallel tests, our valgrind tests would definitely have found leaks in the /usr/bin/env program if it had any. Not so much in some of our own programs. Let's fix that. Rich.

[PATCH 1/2] ocaml: Use ocamlfind to run ocamldoc.
Using 'ocamlfind ocamldoc' is much faster than running 'ocamldoc' directly, because ocamlfind will run the native code program 'ocamldoc.opt' if it is available. This change approximately halves the time taken to compile the ocaml bindings. --- ocaml/Makefile.am | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/ocaml/Makefile.am b/ocaml/Makefile.am index

This way no non-namespaced OCaml C symbols are used, reducing the risk of clashes with other code. The only exception is ocaml-augeas, which does not build with CAML_NAME_SPACE; it will be fixed upstream, and it affects only ocaml-augeas itself. --- builder/Makefile.am | 2 ++ common/mllibvirt/Makefile.am | 1 + common/mlpcre/Makefile.am | 1 + common/mlprogress/Makefile.am | 1 +
