[PATCH v2 2/4] drm/virtio: resource teardown tweaks
Add new virtio_gpu_cleanup_object() helper function for object cleanup. Wire up callback function for resource unref, do cleanup from callback when we know the host stopped using the resource. [PATCH] Add virtio gpu driver.
From: Dave Airlie <airlied at gmail.com> This patch adds a kms driver for the virtio gpu. The xorg modesetting driver can handle the device just fine, the framebuffer for fbcon is there too. Qemu patches for the host side are under review currently. The pci version of the device comes in two variants: with and without vga compatibility. The former has a extra memory bar for the vga

[PATCH 3/4] drm/virtio: move mapping teardown to virtio_gpu_cleanup_object()
Stop sending DETACH_BACKING commands, that will happening anyway when releasing resources via UNREF. Handle guest-side cleanup in virtio_gpu_cleanup_object(), called when the host finished processing the UNREF command. [PATCH v4 09/12] drm/virtio: rework virtio_gpu_object_create fencing
Use gem reservation helpers and direct reservation_object_* calls instead of ttm. v3: Due to using the gem reservation object it is initialized and ready for use before calling ttm_bo_init, so we can also drop the tricky fence logic which checks whenever the command is in flight still. We can simply fence our object before submitting the virtio command and be done with it. Signed-off-by: Gerd

[PATCH 3/3] drm/virtio: add virtio_gpu_cmd_unref_resource error handling
Usually we wait for the host to complete the unref request, then cleanup the guest-side state of the object in the completion callback. When submitting the unref command failed the completion callback will not be called though, so cleanup right away. Fixes a WARN on stale mm entries on driver shutdown. [PATCH] drm/virtio: Add window server support
This is to allow clients running within VMs to be able to communicate with a compositor in the host. Clients will use the communication protocol that the compositor supports, and virtio-gpu will assist with making buffers available in both sides, and copying content as needed. It is expected that a service in the guest will act as a proxy, interacting with virtio-gpu to support unmodified

[PATCH] drm/virtio: drop quirks handling
These days dma ops can be overridden per device, and the virtio core uses that to handle the dma quirks transparently for the rest of the kernel. So we can drop the virtio_has_dma_quirk() checks, just use the dma api unconditionally and depend on the virtio core having setup dma_ops as needed.
