[PATCH] virtio-gpu: fix vblank events
virtio-gpu sends vblank events in virtio_gpu_crtc_atomic_flush, and because of that it must be called for disabled planes too. Ask drm_atomic_helper_commit_planes to do that. locking warnings in drm/virtio code
Hi! My development VM (KVM guest, virtio graphics) is throwing warnings when I start up X while running a build from Linus' tree with lockdep turned on. I tried to bisect it, and it looks like at least the "suspicious RCU usage" one started triggering in commit 889165ad6190556ffe4a8fa6b0e486f1c25589d8 ("drm/virtio: pass gem reservation object to ttm init"). [PATCH v4] drm/virtio: add drm_driver.release callback.
Split virtio_gpu_deinit(), move the drm shutdown and release to virtio_gpu_release(). Drop vqs_ready variable, instead use drm_dev_{enter,exit,unplug} to avoid touching hardware after device removal. Tidy up here and there. v4: add changelog. v3: use drm_dev_*(). Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel at redhat.com> --- drivers/gpu/drm/virtio/virtgpu_drv.h | 3 ++-

[PATCH] drm/virtio: rework batching
Drop the virtio_gpu_{disable,enable}_notify(). Add a new virtio_gpu_notify() call instead, which must be called whenever the driver wants make sure the host is notified needed. Drop notification from command submission. Add virtio_gpu_notify() calls everywhere instead. This results in more batching because we now notify only once for a series of commands. We already had that for page flips,

[RFC v4 04/12] drm/vblank: Add vblank works
Add some kind of vblank workers. The interface is similar to regular delayed works, and is mostly based off kthread_work. It allows for scheduling delayed works that execute once a particular vblank sequence has passed. It also allows for accurate flushing of scheduled vblank works - in that flushing waits for both the vblank sequence and job execution to complete, or for the work to get cancelled
