Re: wine seti@home team
Microsoft probably has unix CPUs running seti, and I see no point in running it
on wine, it would just be slower.
The unix client is much better. The point is if M$ have a seti team we must have
one too. The Linux team is way ahead of M$ so don't worry about being redundant.

SETI@Home
This is a lil bit off topic, but I thought I would bring it up, since we
have users that are trying to run windows BOINC under wine.
The wine project has a SETI@Home team (has had for some time), so if you run
the windows or linux BOINC/SETI@Home client, you can join our team and apply
your credits towards the project's total. Just go to

Faking system time
Hello all.
I am trying to use WINE to make a windoze-only development environment (very rudimentar, command line cross-compiler and stuff)
under Linux, because GNU make is far superior from the M$'s 'nmake'.
Anyway, I have some trouble with expirating licenses and stuff, and the solution is to revert the system date back to some
valid thing and then compile.
Since I am now running

If anyone here is participating in SETI at Home, consider switching teams

Re: wine seti@home team
I have not tried in under wine. I doubt it would work as little else that
might want an internet hit does. Were it to work, I doubt it would run better
or faster as using wine extracts its own performance penalty.
I do miss the informative screensaver. With Linux, I just use tkseti to check
on it, pause it if need be, etc. Also, under Linux, one can assign it a nice
value keeping it out of

advapi32.dll
Hello,
Have solved all my problems with WINE, but one, which seems harder ;-)
I have to run a little proggie "filesign.exe", and the lil bastartd
relies heavily on advapi32.dll crypto stuff, (CryptAcquireContextA(), for example).
From what I read on the code (dlls/advapi32/crypt.c), most of this functions
are stubs, so no luck (it crashes all over with the return FALSEs)
So, I tried

css image url''s and :img problem
Hi,
i have this controller class to serve static files. It works well for
the stylesheet file under a /static directory, locating it, but the
images referenced in the stylesheet do not appear. They are in the
same /static folder, next to the stylesheet.css file.

Issue with timeout option?
I have a project g4l that uses syslinux and have been working on the next
version. I installed the 3.74 pre5, and it worked just fine. But I was doing a
test, and booted the systems, and usually pick the default kerenel or one of
the other kernels on the CD before it times out with 60 seconds. But this
time, I didn't do that. It loaded the default kernel with no problem, but then

3DsMax 9 issues.
Hello, I would like to brainstorm an issue that has not be solved for about a year.
Why am I here.
Well I have been asked by many others to try and get any version of 3DsMax working on wine, I have picked Max 9 32bit.
However the current release version from Autodesk is 3DsMax 2012
I currently use Ubuntu 10.10 and Wine version 1.3.37 and will stick with this release as I dislike unity.

Linux and HDT looking systems?
I've got a user of my g4l project that is having a system that locks with my
kernels, but also with hdt? The default versions are using the 5.10 version of
syslinux, but build a special setup using 6.02 and it still locks with both the
kernels and the hdt? He was able to get gparted i486 live iso to boot on the
machine, so not clear what the issue might be.
The system is a Fujitsu T734

Folding@Home CentOS Team
All,
The CentOS Folding at Home team has cracked the top 10% of all the folding
teams.
We could use some more members that have CPU Cycles to spare :)
Folding at Home is a great distributed computing program that is used to
process items for medical research teams. It is similar to SETI at Home
(if you are familiar with that).
Here is info on Folding AT Home:

hdt error on syslinux 6.0.4-pre1?
Was seeing it I could get any closer with the efi boot using the 6.0.4, and
didn't have any more luck. Did a test with it in bios mode and it works for the
regular kernels, but when I tried the hdt.c32 I get the following error?
Undef symbol FAIL: parse_url

Office (2K) options on Linux
I am just starting to migrate towards Linux (RedHat 7.1 Burned and one
trial install on another machine went well).
However I do alot of work for other companies on Office
(EspeciallyExcel) (generally 2K) and would like to be able to do so
without rebooting. AFAICT I have a few options.
One is to have a dedicated windows box and use a program such as VNC or

Question on upgrading to syslinux 6.04?
I have a project G4L that has used syslinux for many years.
I've upgraded the syslinux from the kernel.org builds over the years up to
6.03 and just copied the newer files, and it has worked.
Saw that the new build machine I setup with Fedora 30 had the version 6.04
files. I tried the same process, and then booting the iso comes up with
message that it can not load ldlinux.c32, which is
