Hi All, I used to run webdt.org and this was built to support a tablet computer that hit the market around the late 90?s. DT Research makes them and they get sold to mostly enterprise applications. That being said there are still a few hundred thousand of these in circulation. The hardware is a bit of a hack. Its usb1.1 with a 44 pin flash module on 44 pin pata half height headers. MFGR

Thank you for that. I?ve set up the thinstation-v5.6.1.iso in vm and setup the chroot. I did my first ./build ?allmodules and wrote the iso to usb using lili version 2.0 so that I can boot with older syslinux. I am doing this for the needed hardware profile to build from inside the vm however the usb has been stuck on the syslinux version line with a line following: Thinstation..... for 30 minutes

I'm running a CentOS 6.5 chroot to build Pale Moon (a Firefox fork) for older machines running distros like Puppy linux. Before anyone asks... * Yes, even though the older machines are using "ancient" glibc, etc, they do have security patches back-ported, e.g. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=90461 "Lucid Puppy Revitalized as 5.2.8.7 - December,

lss broken when upgraded 4.05 to 6.03
Hi, I have just joined the list. I am the original creator of Puppy Linux, now letting other guys take the reins, and I am working on a fork of Puppy called Quirky Linux, where I try various experimental ideas. Up until now, in Puppy and all offshoots, we have used syslinux 4.05 or older. Over the last few days I have been testing 6.03 (using the binary DEBs from Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn),

Menu rotation
Hi, FrameBuffer has the option "fbcon=rotate:1". Could a similar functionality be implemented in the video driver (VBE?) that is used by Syslinux? Is it legal to copy that code from the FBCon portion into the Syslinux video driver portion? If so, where should I start looking? Thanks for all your help. I'm not a coder, I just replied to your question. As far as I know, there is no bootloader that actually does this... maybe GRUB 2 with some UEFI "magic"... just speculating. Here's an example: http://artic.ac-besancon.fr/svt/act_ped/svt_clg/troisieme/defenses/defenses-immunitaires-3eme.zip My problem is that most of these software work relatively well under slitaz with wine version 1.2.3 but not on ubuntu10.04 with the same version of wine. I have display problems. With

[Bug 28095] X crash with PFIFO_CACHE_ERROR. (Nouveau on Riva TNT).
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28095 --- Comment #15 from Brent <bzipitidoo at hotmail.com> --- Yes, someone else said that hardware was unusual. But Nouveau did work with it, at elast somewhat, in the later 2.6 kernels. If it helps at all, the Diamond Viper V550 video card reports a version of 1.93E during POST. Tried older versions of Puppy Linux, and ran into other
