Library_modules (list of & wiki write permissions)
Hello, I poked a little bit to extract the list of modules dependencies in Syslinux v6 (see below). I have attached a bash script that generate a nice table from the tarball. The output can either be an ASCII table, or wiki markup, typically for the page Library_modules[1]. I am not in the wiki Editor group, so I can't put that in the wiki. anyway, here's an updated dependency tree for

Making isolinux boot menu: problems
Thanks Didier, Stephanie used Anarchy Linux to make our menu work. Regarding the missing instructions at https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Menu After comparing the (now working) menu with our old non-working menu made using the instructions from the syslinux wiki page, she found that it had many more .c32 files copied from /usr/share/syslinux and there were a few critical ones to

Syslinux-4/libutil: console_ansi_std()
Well, I decided to get ROSH back out and try to get it functioning in Syslinux-4. As has been my habit, I first recompiled the Linux binary and tried it out. In the beginning of ROSH, it calls console_ansi_std(). When I was working on this in the past, using this function ensured both the Linux and the Syslinux/COM32 binaries function similarly. When using fgets() to get an input string in the

PXELINUX 6.03 / vesamenu.c32 hang
Just tested with the latest VirtualBox and that works OK, so it's definitely something specific to ESXi 6.0.0 (it worked previously under 5.x ESXi versions). cmenu.c32 Symbol not found luaL_checklstring
Hello everyone, I am trying to PXE boot my Acer Aspire G3-773G laptop. It uses UEFI, so I load 64bit syslinux.efi (v6.03) and it automatically loads ldlinux.e64. All is fine. But when I want to use cmenu.c32 (with UI cmenu.c32 in the config file), the loader downloads: * cmenu.c32 * libmenu.c32 * libcom32.c32 * libutil.c32 Then syslinux reports: "unable to load cmenu.c32:

Problems using pxechn.c32
Hi, I have more than one pxe server in my network and I need to chain from one to the other. I used to do that with pxechain.com from old versions of syslinux. With the new version (6.02) I'm trying to achieve this with pxechn.c32. I copied the files ldlinux.c32, libcom32.c32, libutil.c32, pxechn.c32, pxelinux.0 and vesamenu.c32 to the tftp's root in both servers and add this in the menu:

vesamenu.c32 and EFI
Hello! I've been attempting to add EFI support to a linux live distro (slax), it's built on a syslinux bootloader. I can get EFI to work using menu.c32 on syslinux 6.03; however ideally we'd like the VESA menu as well. When we use the vesamenu.c32 and libcom32.c32 from 6.03 we end up with a blank screen and the machine seems to hang. I've tried adding MENU RESOLUTION based on

Ok thanks, this also would be good information 'up front'. I can only comment on how it could be better for a beginner, not in what is actually available if you know where to look.

[3.20pre4] cannot build menu.c32
Hi! I have just tried to build menu.c32 but it fails. 3.20pre3 works fine though. Here is what happens: bash-3.1$ make gcc -m32 -mregparm=3 -DREGPARM=3 -W -Wall -march=i386 -Os -fomit-frame-pointer -I../libutil/include -I../include -D__COM32__ -c -o menu.o menu.c menu.c: In function `run_menu': menu.c:549: warning: variable `done' might be clobbered by `longjmp' or `vfork'

hints about modules needed when migrating to newer releases
Hi, I am migrating a 4.06 pxelinux setup to a 6.02 one. After changing pxelinux.0 to the new version, I got "Failed to load ldlinux.c32". I looked in my debian provided /usr/share/doc/pxelinux/README.txt (which I think is a copy of doc/pxelinux.txt) and didn't find any hints. I also looked at http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/PXELINUX and didn't find anything. Someone
