Help with PXE "Out of Memory" error?
Gene, I'm lurking on this issue. Just in general it's fascinating because I basically use syslinux in a monkey-see-monkey do manner. Can you explain why you used the menu entries that way? What they actually do? You mentioned logging... How is the enabled/configured? Inquiring minds want to know and links to docs will do :) On 10/03/2017 03:30 AM, Gene Cumm via Syslinux wrote: >

Compiling custom "vmlinuz" PXE kernel?
Hello CentOS list, I still need help. Does anyone know how I would go about creating my own "vmlinuz" PXE kernel? I'm still trying to get the NUC6CAYH to load to a LiveCD, and I'm getitng nowhere with Intel. My company wants to do hundreds of these per month; we're not above paying for professional help at this point. My current line of reasoning is to get whatever

isolinux.cfg parsing issue

I am using 3.84. the relevant section of the isolinux.cfg is as follows label LiveCD1 kernel vmlinuz1 append livecd=livecd1 initrd=initrd1.gz root=/dev/rd/3 acpi=on splash=silent vga=788 keyb=us fstab=rw,noauto label LiveCD2 kernel vmlinuz2 append livecd=livecd2

PXE vmlinuz kernel doesn't recognize memory in Intel NUC?
Hello all! I'm hoping someone can help. I'm having 2 issues; first: When trying to load a CentOS LiveCD via PXE on an Intel NUC (NUC6CAY), I get: "Not enough memory to load specified image". The image is 1.1 gigs, and there is 16 gigs of memory in the NUC. To combat this, I found this forum post <https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1398> which suggested using

EFI PXE Server - pxelinux.0 equivalent?
Hi all - I'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I don't see this question explicitly answered anywhere. Is there an EFI version of "pxelinux.0" that will function basically the same way and read the same pxelinux.cfg/default menu files? I've got a really dodgy grubx64.efi EFI PXE menu up at work, but it can't load the 1.2 gigabyte LiveCD that we use

A beginner's problems with plotting
Hi, How would I go about plotting all 8 columns of a data.frame on a simple line graph. i.e. eight lines and sets of points, differentiated by line pattern or colour)? An what further arguments would I need to invoke a log scale on the y-axis of that same plot (normal x-axis)? Cheers, Jeremy

Anyone ever gotten Solaris to install from a CentOS PXE server?
I'm poking through Solaris documentation trying to figure out how to make it installable via our PXE server and, as with many things Solaris, I'm hitting walls of completely foreign procedures and setups. Has anyone managed to do this before? I'm trying to set Solaris 11.3 up.

microcode_ctl-2.1-16 hard crash on Intel E5 2667 v4 CPUs
Hello all! I'm brand new to the mailing list, and I've encountered an issue with the microcode_ctl package version 2.1-16 being installed during the CentOS 7.3 upgrade. It causes my servers to hard stop and they need to be forcibly powered off and back on again with the power button to continue. This RedHat thread https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1398698 details the issue,

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Manuel, You are absolutely right.  I think this is all the Synology just being very dumb.  I guess those are my only two options at this point. I have no idea on how to set up the NUT server though on one of my NUCs or my Pi.  Do you know any good guides out there?  I’m guessing it’s easy enough to edit upsmon.conf on the Synology in order to get that to become a slave; I think would be all

Any objections to re-sorting #include lines with clang-format/clang-tidy?
The crazy clang-format folks have taught it to sort includes, and clang-tidy has a nice way to run it across all of LLVM and Clang. Before I just submit the fixes (and any bug reports to the clang-format folks if it sorts things weirdly) I wanted to double check that folks would be ok with this. My understanding is that the sorting should match the LLVM conventions, but if not, I'll make sure

Do they have their own UPS's?

Upgrade to CentOS8
Hi folks I have a couple of Zotac mini PCs running CentOS7 which I want/need to upgrade to CentOS8 In theory, they are CentOS8 capable, but assuming Murphy might be lurking around, I prefer validating the hardware before starting the effective installation As there is no LiveCD, what would be the recommended way to do this? Thanks!

Refactor ovirt-node-image code base for inclusion in Fedora
Main reason for refactor is no ovirt-node-image binary image allowed in fedora. Removed ks files, now in ovirt-node-recipe, which is subpackage of ovirt-node. Removed tools, these are now in ovirt-node-recipe which is subpackage of ovirt-node.

Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update introduces new interesting features like : - support for Xen kernel - built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO - a new API See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for instructions on how to get this updated toolset. Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for feedback from
