And 4.x doesn't work too for localboot . I wish keeppxe would be a kind of general switch for all tasks. I see a pending patch for this now. Am 31.01.2017 00:27 schrieb "Gene Cumm" <gene.cumm at

Current pxelinux always unloads undi driver
Good day, I have the problem to pass the ?loaded? undi driver to the next bootloader. In current pxelinux ?lernel memdisk keeppxe harddisk raw initrd::parh_to_img? always unloads undi before memdisk (or other kernel) takes control. After many tries I found that the keeppxe feature is broken starting from version 6.03 pre 9. I tried to find the reason by comparing sources 6.03 pre 8 / 6.03

pxelinux localboot
Just download Syslinux 1.75 and set it up on my SuSE 7.3 box with latest ISC 3.x DHCP release. I am using the SuSE supplied in.tftp, and an IBM PC client with a IBM EtherJet (actually an Intel Pro 100) nic. Everything was actually quite straight forward to setup, and I got PXELinux working without too much trouble. I am booting several different DOS images without problem, and think my Linux

SYSLINUX PXE LOCALBOOT Bitlockers
Label is OS and I believe there are all booting MBR. Is there a way to clear the memory then continue loading ? or rebooting the machine from the menu. I have tried that reboot.c32 and cannot get it to reboot the machine. Localboot -1 should try to boot 'next device' from the order configured by bios. Of course 'next device' can be an additional nic. In this case booting from second nic fails because !PXE is not found.

PXE floppy, PXELINUX and LOCALBOOT
Hi! A friend of mine has tried a PXE floppy (build from the new etherboot 5.3.12) to load PXELINUX.0; a menu voice of the pxelinux.cfg use the LOCALBOOT statement. Selecting this statement, the PC retry to boot from the floppy... is this normal? The user expected that LOCALBOOT would have tried the NEXT boot device (ie CDROM or HD), not the FIRST boot device (the floppy)... (note: this has

SYSLINUX PXE LOCALBOOT Bitlockers
That's a great question, actually, I should have remembered to mention that! You can control what factors are used for the TPM's integrity check to release the bitlocker key on boot. Depending on whether your on a BIOS or EFI machine, there are slight differences, but definitely controllable by group policy. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee706521(v=ws.10).aspx#BKMK_depopt3 I

SYSLINUX PXE LOCALBOOT Bitlockers
Any deviation from the expected boot process will prevent BitLocker from accessing the volume key in the TPM. One reason this behavior exists is to prevent malicious code from being loaded (such as via booting first to CD / USB / PXE, loading malware, and then continuing to boot to Windows). So what's happening here is the deviation from firmware -> PXE -> HDD is detected and the volume

Still fighting localboot on EFI - looping
I'm still trying fruitlessly to get some sort of local disk boot from syslinux EFI to work... using the 6.03 modules. Tried various combinations of configurations on Gene's test binaries. For reference this is on different models of HP Proliant Gen-9 systems with UEFI. Firmware as up to date as it comes. The UEFI boot order has the hard drives and OS ESPs before the PXE interfaces

PXE looping on localboot
I have seen posts about this problem, but have had trouble finding how/if it was resolved. I am trying to upgrade from syslinux-3.11 to syslinux-3.86 on RHEL5. On 3.86, when it performs a local boot from hard disk, it just keeps looping back into PXE boot again instead of booting from the hard disk. It will perform a system install just fine, but when it switches to localboot after the install,

PXELINUX LOCALBOOT 0 hang on Dell Optiplex 990
I have been using PXELINUX, with "LOCALBOOT 0" when wanting to boot from disk, for many years. Now on new Dell Optiplex 990 machines, PXE boot with "LOCALBOOT 0" hangs after message Booting from local disk... without the expected "Exiting PXE" message. I tried "LOCALBOOT -1" and some other values also, none seemed to work. I tested SYSLINUX 4.04.

I am using the following simple menu and have noticed that items at the bottom are dropping off. I seem to be limited to 12 items. can pxe localboot report failure to bios
<Docs> LOCALBOOT type [ISOLINUX, PXELINUX] On PXELINUX, specifying "LOCALBOOT 0" instead of a "KERNEL" option means invoking this particular label will cause a local disk boot instead of booting a kernel. The argument 0 means perform a normal boot. The argument 4 will perform a local boot with the Universal Network Driver Interface (UNDI) driver still

ONTIMEOUT and menu
Maybe I missed something here. What I want to happen is PXE boot on a timeout will boot to the hard drive. But, what happens is my comboot menu, which is default, loads right away and the ontimeout only happens when I escape out of the menu. My pxelinux.cfg/default: default menu timeout 100 ontimeout localboot # The Main Menu label menu kernel mainmenu.com append keeppxe #

localboot in pxelinux recurses back into pxelinux then eventually crashes

lua.c32 : run_command() does not work if ALLOWOPTIONS from menu is set to 0
Good day, If I set allowoptions to 0 to hide editing menu entries and then select to run lua.c32 from menu , run_command() from inside the script it seems to invoke kernel/com32 modules without any parameter. For example pxechn.c32 will never be happy no matter what the command line is. But if you set allowoptions to 1 everything starts to work as expected, except the menu itself.
