Strange bug in my package
Dear all,
I get a bug in the examples of my AFLP package on R-forge (https://r-forge.r-project.org/R/?group_id=1027) but only on the Linux version. The windows version compiles. The Mac version skips the examples and compiles. The strange thing is that the packages compiles on my Ubuntu 10.10 machine with R 2.15.0. Therefore I can't reproduce the error.
I have traced the problem at

Non-vignette sweave file in package
Dear all,
I'm documenting an elaborate analysis as a private package. The package writes all required output to a database. I use a Sweave file to transform all the results from the database into a report.
Now I would like to add this Sweave to my package. I'm a bit puzzled on how to do that. It is not a vignette: the data is not available when the package is build and I need to

Problem loading .Rdata file
Dear all,
I'm having troubles migrating a large matrix from one system to another.
#system 1: Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit, running R 2.15.2
# do some simulations
# save the simulations
> save(Output, file = "Simulations.Rdata")
#Output is a numeric matrix with 6 columns and about 2M rows.
Use ftp to transfer the Simulations.Rdata file to system 2

incorrect import?
Dear all,
I'm not getting what I'm doing wrong. The line below from my read.fsa.bin function throws an error when just loading my AFLP package and disappears when I load the zoo package as well.
#the line that throws the error
Index <- which(Peak == rollmax(Peak, k = 1 + 2 * floor((min(diff(SizeStandard)) * Fs - 1) / 2), fill = -Inf))

averaging a list of matrices element wise
Dear all,
I have a list of n matrices which all have the same dimension (r x s). What would be a fast/elegant way to calculate the element wise average? So result[1, 1] <- mean(c(raw[[1]][1, 1] , raw[[2]][1, 1], raw[[...]][1, 1], raw[[n]][1, 1]))
Here is my attempt.
#create a dummy dataset
n <- 3
r <- 5
s <- 6
raw <- lapply(seq_len(n), function(i){
matrix(rnorm(r * s), ncol =

define subgroups based on position in table
Dear list,
I have a data frame with one column (group) and want to add a second column (sub) with a serial number that says to which subgroup a cell belongs. A subgroup contains the consecutive rows of the same group. The number of a subgroup is based on its position in the table. The first subgroup of A's and B's should have nr A1 and B1, the second nr A2 and B2, etc.. I hope the

[PATCH] xen/arm: Dummy implementation of multi-bank support
U-boot for the arndale board splits the memory in 8 contiguous banks and
rewrites the memory node. So most of the memory is lost.
As the frametable is only able to handle contiguous memory, use the first
contiguous banks and warn if some of the memory banks are not used.

asterisk / channel bank
I have two loop-start phone lines connected to an Adtran TA 750 channel
bank. When a call comes into asterisk thru the first phone line and the
call is redirect (in transit) back thru the second phone line, the channel
bank will leave one or both lines opened (ie hangup with spawn a connection
again). does any body have a suggestion:
1) I checked the cables into the channel bank from both phone

Channel Bank Newbie Problem
Hi all
I'm trying to configure a TE410P in Europe with three
E1s and a T1 channel bank (already bought in the US) to receive and make
calls through *. I managed to get the E1s to work, but I'm having
trouble with the channel bank (a Rhino). I have tried the bank in spans
1 and 4 changing jumpers in the card (always with no PRI connected, as I
have no PRI where I'm testing now,

- 40 phones and only 3 PSTN trunks?. I would recommend at least 2 BRIs
for this. If you have ISDN you can also get DDI to the extensions.I
would strongly recommend abandoning the analogue PSTN lines and using
ISDN. The setup pain you will go through will be significantly less,
combined with better audio, more features (like DDI numbers!) and much
more robust connections.

Cant find out MCE reason (CPU 35 BANK 8)
Hello community.
We are running, Centos 4.8 on SuperMicro SYS-6026T-3RF with 2xIntel Xeon

For some time we have lots of MCE in mcelog and we cant find out the reason.
"Ordinary" mce message looks like:

SOLVED - Channel bank woes - no outbound calls
Thanks to the great support at Rhino Equipment and Digium, this has
finally been solved. I wanted to post the solution back to the list in
case anyone else is having a similiar issue.
I started by calling Rhino support so I could eliminate channel bank
configuration as the issue. We were able to determine the channel bank
and signalling were all working as expected. I then began to monitor

summary of lme4.0 model in package
Dear all,
My package has Depends: lme4.0 in the DESCRIPTION. I need to extract the fixed effect of a model and their standard errors. I use coef(summary(model)) inside a function to do that. Model is the output of a call to glmer() from the lme4.0 package.
coef(summary(model)) throws an error: $ operator is invalid for atomic vectors
I have tracked it down to a problem with summary(model)

Channel Bank Frustrations
I'm trying to get a Carrier Access Corp. Channel Bank I working with a
Digium T100P without success.
What is stranger is that the status lights on the channel bank and T100P
seem to change almost each time I power cycle the channel bank or reset the
T100P.
The channel bank has three status lights: T1, Framing, Status. T1 is green,
Status is yellow, and Framing is usually red but sometime

Channel Bank
hi all !
My setup of asterisk is,
INTERNAL PABX -------(bundle of Analog lines-FXS +FXO)------>Channel
Bank-----------E1-------->X100P(* Box)
I'm using pleidaes Channell bank currently which does the FXO+FXS to E1
conversion for me. The trouble is I'm having some call disconnection problem
with this CB. And I also saw that people had techinical problem with this

Channel bank woes - no outbound calls
So, I'm still having this problem with outbound calls not working when using a channel bank. I've purchased a Rhino FXO channel bank from VoIPSupply.com to make sure it wasn't an equipment problem. I am using a Digium TE411P card, and have simplified it down to just 1 port plugged into the channel bank, with just 1 analog line plugged in. If I place an inbound call on the line, it

Nortel digital FXO channel bank? Exists?
We have a client with a Nortel PBX with digital phone sets. Due to T1
problems (old firmware), we are interested in trying a FXO channel bank.
Is there a channel bank (or equivalent) which emulates Meridian digital
phone sets? In order words, an FXO channel bank that's Meridian digital?
Thanks

FS: Zhone Channel Bank
Hi,
I have a mint, like-new (used only once) Zhone Z-Plex channel bank for
sale. It has 16 FXS and 8 FXO (part number: Z-PLEX-10-24S/O). It
functions as a channel bank, router, and CSU/DSU, combining T1, analog
voice, and data. D4, SF, and ESF line formats are supported with AMI
or B8ZS coding. It has dual T1 jacks, one ethernet jack, one serial
port, one V.35 port, and 24 analog pairs

IP FXS channel bank
Hi there,
I'm trying to get hold of an evaluation IP-enabled FXS channel bank. I'm not
sure if it's more a channel bank, or should be called a multiport-ATA. Oh well.
On the surface it looks quite nice - 16 FXS ports, and since it's connected to
the network I can do away with an E1/T1 connection required of the normal
channel banks (if it can be called that :)

puzzling RODBC error
Dear all,
I'm trying to connect to an MSAccess database (ArcGIS personal geodatabase). I keep getting an error about the channel when using sqlQuery(). However, sqlTables() does not complain about the channel and lists all tables in the database. If I try sqlFetch(), then R crashes.
I'm happy to hear suggestions on how to solve this.
Best regards,
Thierry
