How to backup maildir
Hello Robert,
[... snip ...]
of course I'm totally with you: asking other people for help, is often
a good - if even not the only way to getting things done. It was not
my intention to insult you! I hope this did not come in to your mind ...
Personally I would have a look at the mentioned Dovecot-backup-script
as a start. It does really a very good job! Cudos to Klaus Tachtler!

Wx::Bitmap causes segfaults
Instantiating a Wx::Bitmap with width and height causes a segmentation
fault. This is the minimal example I could find where the behaviour is
exhibited:
require ''rubygems''
require ''wx''
Wx::Bitmap.new(1, 1)
Results in:
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/wxruby-1.9.8-x86-linux/lib/wx/classes/bitmap.rb:17:

tkcanvas/bitmap for Turtle World
To represent a turtle inside a canvas (tcltk package), I have a serie of
bitmaps
representing the turtle heading in different directions and I would like
to display the one that corresponds to the current direction of the turtle
(function below).
I have created with Paint a bitmap representing the turtle in BMP format

Hi all,
I'm trying to execute a game named Silver, by Infogrames of +/- 1998...
But I find an opposite to continue: The cursor (bitmap cursor I think) don't cover all the screen, I need to move the window of my game to continue... :-(
I search and find something in www but nothing to solve the problem.
Someone can help?
Thanks! :D

Bitmap file size problems
I am experiencing some problems with the windows graphics device
and bitmaps. (Everything is done in R 2.3.1 on Windows XP)
As an example, I will use
windows(3,2)
plot(1:10)
It is not a pretty or meaningful graph, but it demonstrates the problem.
savePlot(file="test",type="bmp")
creates a bitmap file of size 303x207 which is somewhat strange
because it seems to use slightly

Bitmap Fonts and wine 1.3?
Hello,
I'm trying to get rpgmaker games to run correctly in wine.
(Well they do, but without sound and the font looks crappy)
So first thing to do for me is to get the fonts readable.
After hours of searching on google I've converted the the rm2000.fon file to a .bdf and a pcf file and managed to install the font for the X Server.
But i couldn't find out how to use it in wine :(

variable. I have also added the R executable path to the path variable. I
have a 64 bit computer with windows 7

[PATCH] Btrfs: use cluster->window_start when allocating from a cluster bitmap
We specifically set window_start in the cluster struct to indicate where the
cluster starts in a bitmap, but we''ve been using min_start to indicate where
we''re searching from. This is usually the start of the blockgroup, so
essentially means we''re constantly searching from the start of any bitmap we
find, which completely negates all the trouble we go to in order to

REad bitmap files
Dear all,
I am looking for a function that can read a simple bmp file and return me a matrix with their corresponding values.
I have already looked in the packages
require(ReadImages)
require(pixmap)
and also did apropos("image")
but I could not find something that can do something like that.
I have also tried the read.ftable but it also failed.

[fdo] Bitmap program : misbehavior
Hello,
I have been using the bitmap program for several years, for teaching
purpose (introductory to elementary principles of information coding).
At present, the program does not behave any longer as it should do :
- after having clicked one of the drawing buttons (Point, Curve, Line,
etc.) no drawing occurs inside the canvas area of the main window.
This misfunction is observed when
