[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.9.99.901
Ok, I think we've done enough damage for one release. Thanks everyone
for pulling a long weekend to get changes prepared and reviewed.
We're still missing the threaded input stuff, but that needs more review
and I think we wore Tiago out this time around. If someone wants to
propose merging it after the freeze, I think we should consider doing
it.
Note that this tarball depends on

First release in the 1.18 stable branch. Major themes are bugfixes in
glamor, the modesetting driver, and the Present extension.
Xwayland users may want to apply the following pair of patches in
addition to this release:

https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/72951/raw/
which combined fix an input issue when hotplugging monitors. Both are

MAX_LUNS SIZE LIMIT ON RHEL 3.0 and 4.0
Dear List Users-
IHAC planning storage layout and is looking for the following MAX_LUNS
size limit on RHEL 3.0 and 4.0. Details are below. Customer database
size is estimated to grow to 5 TB and worries that they will not be able
to present enough devices to the system if used with EMC powerpath and
RHEL 3.0 max_lun limitations. I have advised on using OCFS or ASM as
this is a 10g Database

Streaming Question
Hello all,
I was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night who is a lighting
designer for shows and productions and we got onto the topic of automated
lighting. Made me think, what would be involved in placing another stream into
the audio, or rather alongside, which could contain lighting instructions?
There is a standard called DMX, and for anyone interested check out:

Device Control
Hello Folks,
I remember reading sometime ago here about placing alongside the audio stream other information, such as DMX lighting controls (ave a wee look-see here http://llg.cubic.org/dmx4linux/ ). I now have some gear i can get my hands on to play with and was wondering if anyone else is/has been working on anything similar. The emphasis here is on public exhibition displays, where one could

Suspend your disbelief, it's 1.4.1. Better imperfect than never at all,
I guess. Contains a few security and input fixes, some memory leak
fixes, and a few misc bits.

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.18.99.2
I think we're ready for RC1 at this point, but wanted to give people a
chance to scream about "just one more API change" until tomorrow. Let me
know if there's something I'm missing; if I don't hear anything, I'll be
tagging RC1 in the morning.

[ANNOUNCE] libdmx 1.1.5
This library allows X11 clients to use the Distributed Multihead X (DMX)
Extension, as previously implemented in the Xdmx server. X.Org removed
support for the Xdmx server from the xorg-server releases in the version 21
release in 2021. This library is thus now considered deprecated and the
version 1.1.5 release is the last release X.Org plans to make of libdmx.

Ok, this is the first release candidate for X server version 1.6. At
this point, I'm interested in seeing only critical bug fixes submitted
on the wiki page. Sorry for the delay since 1.5.99.3, but I wanted to
get the Enter Leave/FocusIn Out fixes into this release.

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.19.99.902
This merges the DRI3 1.2 support (with an asterisk) and per-window
flips for Xwayland, along with the usual collection of miscellaneous
fixes. In particular the meson build is much closer to production-
ready. The asterisk for DRI3 is that the modesetting driver has some
known issues still, so the code to enable planes and modifiers is
hidden behind an xorg.conf option:

[PATCH 1/5] drm/nv10/plane: fix format computation
Otherwise none of the format checks pass, since the width was still in
16.16 encoding.

This must have been some sort of last-second cleanup I made and forgot to
test, because with this code, there's no way it could ever have worked...

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.18.2
A big pile of updates in this one. Highlights include:
- glamor is updated to use OpenGL core profiles if available, which
should improve memory usage and performance on modern hardware, and got
some other performance improvements for rpi and other GLES platforms
- DRI2, DRI3, and Present all received correctness fixes for hangs,
crashes, and other weirdness
- Xwayland server has been updated
