Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3
? ????????? ?? Sunday 16 August 2020 07:20:18 Ilia Mirkin ???????(?): > Well, if it's easy, try the patches I mailed to nouveau@ for the ddx. I applied patches manually (copy-pasted patches failed to apply by git apply, probably whitespace/end of line issues), and now I see in X log (after I left machine to run alone): [ 3584.553] (DB) NOUVEAU(0): PRESENT: Wait for VBlank failed: Invalid

Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3
I'm aware of this issue, and am experiencing it myself. The issue is that drmmode_event_handler takes up more and more CPU time. It seems like some events are being "left behind". I haven't had time to debug it further yet though. I also have DRI3 enabled, but only very rarely do I make use of my secondary GPUs, and I'm pretty sure I've seen the problem happen without

Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3
I observed this bug for quite some time, but so far I workarounded it with just setting DRI2 (default) in xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf Now with two GPU i iwsh to use DRI3, so right now it set up like this: cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf Section "Device" Identifier "Card0" Driver "nouveau" Option "PageFlip" "1" #Option

[PATCH 1/2] drmmode: fix screen resize without acceleration
This got broken with commit 86024cee back in 2014! drmmode_pixmap/nouveau_pixmap expect there to be EXA wrapping around the pixmap now, which is not there without accel. [PATCH] present: rotated crtc's work fine
The "pick best" logic takes rotation into account. However flipping a rotated CRTC can't work, so we disable that. [PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] dri2, present: move in pixmap before getting addresses
First of all, we were not forcing the pixmap to be moved in before attempting to present it. Secondly, in certain configurations, we avoid ever backing pixmaps with vram (in GPUs with 32MB of VRAM or less). This fixes the observed cases where we ended up assuming that a bo was backing a pixmap without doing the explicit move-in. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> ---

[DDX PATCH] Consider CRTCs disabled when DPMS is off
It turns out there's a difference in X between a CRTC being "disabled" and simply having it's DPMS turned off. This is problematic though, because if DPMS is turned off you can't really use the CRTC as a normal CRTC anyway since page flipping and vblanks will be non-functional. As a result, we've been considering DPMS-on CRTCs as enabled and attempt to perform pageflips,

[PATCH 0/4] nouveau: xserver 1.13 compat fixes
Here are a few patches adding some missing functions in NvPlatformProbe, which iirc is being used as of xserver 1.13 First patch adds a nouveau_kernel_mode_enabled helper, similar to xf86-video-radeon Second and third use the function in Nv{Pci,Platform}Probe And last one ensures we can still use ZaphodHead and relative head positioning via xorg.conf The coding style may be a bit off, despite my

[Patches][nouveau/ddx]: Improvements to bufferswap implementation and timestamping
Hi, here a set of patches against the nouveau-ddx. This is an extended and revised set, based on Francisco Jerez feedback from autumn last year. [1/9] Makes pageflipping work again on X-Server 1.12rc. It apparently stopped working somewhere around Xorg 1.11+. [2/9] Implements handling of pageflip completion events from the kernel. Francisco Jerez argument against including it was that the

[PATCH] drmmode: update logic for dynamic connectors, paths, and tiles
This largely copies the code from modesetting with minor adjustments. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- I've tried privately to get people to test this out, but to no avail. I don't have the hardware to verify this one way or the other. Ideally with this patch you should be (a) able to use a tiled monitor at 60hz with DP-MST and (b) be able to see connectors

[PATCH xserver] Make PixmapDirtyUpdateRec::src a DrawablePtr
From: Michel Dänzer <michel.daenzer at amd.com> This allows making the master screen's pixmap_dirty_list entries explicitly reflect that we're now tracking the root window instead of the screen pixmap, in order to allow Present page flipping on master outputs while there are active slave outputs. Define HAS_DIRTYTRACKING_DRAWABLE_SRC for drivers to check, but leave

[PATCH] drmmode: update logic for dynamic connectors, paths, and tiles

using object.find() in a loop not returning an array
I''m running a loop (illustrated below) that retrieves records from a table based on an id that might be different with each iteration. The loop uses the array scrns (composed of IDs) to find the related records in the Screens table. I''m attempting to store the returned results in an instance variable so I can use that data in a view. However, this code simply is overwriting
