It seems that fewer and fewer favorite programs run with wine. Stuff that ran 100% on older builds crashes out on the newer ones with elan. There needs to be (more) regression testing. However, damage has already been done and propagated and needs correction simply to get back to the previous level of operability.

Today October 28, they are giving their software for free. Yes. Interest is go great they had to take their main site offline! Downloads can be done from the subsitute web page. So ... is their's really better than Wine on Debian Sid or Experimental? I have no need for MS-office. OO is more than good enought. Knowledge Probe Inc. makes some very nice math and word puzzle games. These worked a while back in WINE but not recently. (A lot of that going around, even now going to beta!). A word processor gives me an exception which is flagged as and ole problem with a WINEPS driver. I had wineps.dll and wineps16.dll on older fakewindows directories. I copies to /usr/lib/wine, added as builtin. No change. I had fixed this in the past, do not remember how. Any ideas?

Seems that any program that has a default data directory, or previously selected directory preserved, has the directory duplicated/nested: That data is in c:\mystuff\mydata It is shown as c:\mystuff\mydata\mydata The files appear and maybe can be read. I am trying to use the mono26 install from winetricks in order to run an installer that fails to find: C:\\windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v2.0.50727\\mscorsvw.exe even though I have both that 2.0 and the 3.0 framework in my .wine/ folder.
