[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Add fine-grain temperature reporting
Commit d32656373857 ("drm/nouveau/therm/gp100: initial implementation of new gp1xx temperature sensor") added support for reading finer-grain temperatures, but continued to report temperatures in 1 degree Celsius increments via nvkm_therm_temp_get(). Rather than altering nvkm_therm_temp_get() to report finer-grain temperatures, which would be inconvenient for other users of the

[PATCH v2 1/2] drm/nouveau: return temperatures in temp_get() via parameter
The temp_get() function currently returns negative error numbers or a temperature. However, the thermal sensors can (in theory) measure negative temperatures. Some implementations of temp_get() correctly clamp negative temperature readings to 0 so that users do not mistake them for errors, but some, like gp100_temp_get(), do not. Rather than relying on implementations remembering to clamp values,

[PATCH v2 4/4] drm/nouveau: gpu lockup recovery
Overall idea: Detect lockups by watching for timeouts (vm flush / fence), return -EIOs, handle them at ioctl level, reset the GPU and repeat last ioctl. GPU reset is done by doing suspend / resume cycle with few tweaks: - CPU-only bo eviction - ignoring vm flush / fence timeouts - shortening waits Signed-off-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz at gmail.com> ---

[PATCH] [RFC] drm/nouveau: bring back hdmi audio device after switcheroo power down
After a full device powerdown via the optimus power switch, we seem to lose the HDMI device completely on power on, this keep track of whether we had a hdmi audio sub function device at power on, and pokes a magic register to make it reappear after the optimus power switch is thrown. This at least works on my NVC4 machine, probably needs testing on a few other laptops with other nvidia GPUs.

[PATCH 0/3] Cleanup drm_kms_helper_poll_enable/disable() calls
Does what it says on the label, a lot of these calls are already handled somewhere else and don't appear to be here for a legitimate reason anymore. [PATCH 0/3] Several hwmon fixes
We should simply return errors while the GPU is turned off, because the sensors aren't accessable and setting any kind of value doesn't make any sense. Fixes sensors values reported by "sensors" Before: nouveau-pci-0100 Adapter: PCI adapter GPU core: +0.60 V (min = +0.60 V, max = +1.20 V) temp1: -0.0°C (high = +95.0°C, hyst = +3.0°C) (crit

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Drop superfluous DRM_SWITCH_POWER_DYNAMIC_OFF checks
nouveau's ->suspend and ->resume callbacks are currently skipped if the device's status is either DRM_SWITCH_POWER_OFF (powered off by vga_switcheroo manual power control) or DRM_SWITCH_POWER_DYNAMIC_OFF (runtime suspended). In the former case this makes sense since the device is powered off behind the PM core's back: It will try to execute the ->suspend and ->resume

[PATCH v3 1/3] drm/nouveau: Remove useless poll_enable() call in switcheroo_set_state()
This doesn't do anything, drm_kms_helper_poll_enable() gets called in nouveau_pmops_resume()->nouveau_display_resume()->nouveau_display_init() already. [PATCH] drm/nouveau: fix temp/pwm visibility, skip hwmon when no sensors exist
A NV34 GPU was seeing temp and pwm entries in hwmon, which would error out when read. These should not have been visible, but also the whole hwmon object should just not have been registered in the first place. [PATCH 5/7] vga_switcheroo: Use device link for HDA controller
Back in 2013, runtime PM for GPUs with integrated HDA controller was introduced with commits 0d69704ae348 ("gpu/vga_switcheroo: add driver control power feature. (v3)") and 246efa4a072f ("snd/hda: add runtime suspend/resume on optimus support (v4)"). Briefly, the idea was that the HDA controller is forced on and off in unison with the GPU. The original code is mostly still in

[PATCH RESEND] drm/nouveau/hwmon: Use sysfs_emit in show function callsbacks
According to Documentation/filesystems/sysfs.rst, the show() callback function of kobject attributes should strictly use sysfs_emit() instead of sprintf() family functions. So, make this change. Issue identified using the coccinelle device_attr_show.cocci script. Signed-off-by: Deepak R Varma <drv at mailo.com> --- Note: Resending the patch for review and feedback. No functional changes.

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/hwmon: Uninitialized variables in sysfs
kstrtol() and friends can return -EINVAL or -ERANGE. We have to test for both, otherwise the value is possibly uninitialized. Also in some of these files we accidentally return "count" on error instead of a negative error code.
