can't find tools/wineinstall
Howdy. I have SuSE 7.2 and installed wine via YaST (wine rpm). I do not have windows on my computer at all. The docs tell me to run tools.wineinstall, but I do not seem to have that on my system. I'm stuck. I've created C:\windows, C:\windows\system, etc. and I can run the command wine --version, but that's it. Ideas? Thanks :)

./tools/wineinstall
Regarding the most recent release wine20040615. When using ./tools/wineinstall I got an error stating that a 'static' version of glibc was required. I'm using Mandrake 10 Official and would have thought that such a monster was included considering the last stable release appears to be from last year. So, what is a 'static' version and what do I need to do to overcome this

"running wineinstall as root" error - Mac OS X
I run Mac OS X 10.6.5. There are a bunch of Windows programs I would very much like to run, and my latest OS update broke my copy of CrossOver Games, so I decided to get Wine. None of the ten binary download packages on the download page said Mac anywhere on them, so I decided I would have to download the source code and run from the command line. I don't like this, since I'm not

The source file wineinstall needs translation
Hello, I have compiled the source of wine for the first time but I had not installed any package as flex and I get an error message. This error only showed that you must install the package, but in English and would rather useful for people who compiles for the first time, appeared in their language. You simply could detect the language before starting to compile a file and include constant

wine-20050419 - where to set audio driver type?
Hi, In a completely clean account that's never run Wine before I run wine --version. Wine installs a new .wine directory but this Wine directory has no config file. I looked in the 3 obvious files but none of them seem to have an option for changing between OSS, Alsa and JAck. where do I make this setting change now? Thanks, Mark

./tools/wineinstall
Great work, but I have a suggestion: Near the end of the install I get the following message: "Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:" would not `grep /dev/fd0 /etc/fstab | awk '{print $2}'` have been a more sensible default? or perhaps something a little more clever that takes account of zip drives etc? JAT Cheers & God bless SammyTheSnake

wineinstall permission denied
I need help... I've tried installing Wine through both the recommended and manual proceedures, and it refuses to install. In the Root Terminal, it says that "it is not recommended to install under root", that I "should switch to a lower level user", and then it aborts; yet it will not install under any other user. And now, when I try ./config and ./tools/wineinstall it
