Can LightDM work with an existing X server socket?
Hi all,
I'm setting up an LXC container for Ubuntu 13.10 where the X server is
started in the host on vt6. The unix socket and authority file are
then mounted in the LXC container. I can start X sessions and
applications from the container but I can't get LightDM to use this
server.
I would really like to have the container's LightDM/Ubuntu greeter to
automatically start on this

Thanks for the notification, Chandler.
I also wanted to note that I’ve just posted another component for Spectre mitigation (variant 1), see https://reviews.llvm.org/D41760 and https://reviews.llvm.org/D41761.
I believe this is completely complementary to the retpoline mitigation you pointed to at https://reviews.llvm.org/D41723#, which is targeted at mitigating variant 2.
Thanks,
Kristof

how to generate a matrix by an my data.frame
Dear All
It is a little hard to give a good small example of my question,so I
will show the full data on the bottom and the attachment.Maybe some
one could tell me an appropriate way
to show it.I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Q:How to generate a 53*53 diagonal matrix by my data
Some problems confused me are that:
1.Since it is a diagonal matrix,I have tried to transform col1 and
col2 to

Awesome, replied.
We've been working on similar things, but didn't have them ready-to-publish
due to slightly lower urgency (there are reasonable ways to locally mimic
these kinds of things in sensitive areas like the Linux kernel, and even
finding code patterns for variant #1 is substantially harder). We have some
significantly different APIs we'd like to discuss here based on

Is there a python binding, or any other script binding, that has access to individual instructions?
There is llvmlite http://llvmlite.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ , but it
doesn't seem to support reading individual instructions, based on these
docs.
I was thinking to make a simple code analysis tool to, for example, find
all system calls that have unchecked return codes, but I can't find a
binding for any scripting language. And I am averse to writing this in C++.
Thanks,
Yuri

Age of Empires II playing on the internet
I recently installed Shorewall and had it running (including the network
behind the firewall) within 30 minutes, excellent I should say. However
I am facing a problem with the game Age of Empires from Microsoft. It is
not possible to play the game in the MSNzone from a PC behind the
firewall. When I connect the PC (windows XP) directly to the cable
connection, everything is working.

SSfpl self-start sometimes fails... workaround proposed
Hello,
nls library provides 6 self-starting models, among them: SSfp, a four
parameters logistic function. Its self-starting procedure involves several
steps. One of these steps is:
pars <- as.vector(coef(nls(y ~ cbind(1, 1/(1 + exp((xmid - x)/exp(lscal)))),
data = xydata, start = list(lscal = 0), algorithm = "plinear")))
which assumes an initial value of lscal equal to 0. If lscal

I have configured domain controler in debian 9 (samba 4.5.12-Debian).
Dns is internal samba. locally works well (I think) but from another
computer I can not query DNS. The problem is with samba_dnsupdate
My configuration:
smb.conf

netbios name = DC
realm = BEWPHOTO.LOCAL
workgroup = BEWPHOTO
dns forwarder = 8.8.8.8

none of the printers are listed in the smb.conf - it is all being

usbhid-ups causing hang on boot with 2.6.35 - any ideas?
(Arjen - I apologize if you get two copies, I sent the first one to the old
de-korte.org address)
Arjen, all,
I've run into a usbhid-ups problem with nut on Arch Linux with the new 2.6.35
kernels. (latest is 2.6.35.4-1) For some reason when you get to the udev events
on boot and it tries to load the usbhid-ups driver, it hangs until the 120 sec
timeout occurs and then boot continues but
