Trying a new kernel on old [NV04] system I get tons of

Discrete card is always off even if it is used
Hi,
I have a computer with an integrated graphic card and a discrete graphic
card, namely:
# lspci | grep -E "VGA|3D"
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U
Integrated Graphics (rev 09)
03:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM108M [GeForce 840M] (rev a2)
This is confirmed by vgaswitcheroo:

Coefficient of skewness
Hi,
Is there a function in R to calculate the coefficient of skewness of
some data? I had expected there to be one, but can find no information
about it.
Thanks for any pointers.

Second Monitor left of internal monitor turns internal monitor black
Hi Ilia,
with 'xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA-1-2 --auto --left-of LVDS1' it
seems to work properly. Thank you. Do you know about a tool which integrates
well in Ubuntu? Maybe a GUI for xrandr? The other option would be to use some
bash script, which also is okay for me.
Just for your information the outputs of 'xrandr -q' and 'xrandr --listproviders':

[PATCH] pci/quirks: Add quirk to reset nvgpu at boot for the Lenovo ThinkPad P50
On a very specific subset of ThinkPad P50 SKUs, particularly ones that
come with a Quadro M1000M chip instead of the M2000M variant, the BIOS
seems to have a very nasty habit of not always resetting the secondary
Nvidia GPU between full reboots if the laptop is configured in Hybrid
Graphics mode. The reason for this happening is unknown, but the
following steps and possibly a good bit of patience

multinomial logit discrete choice model
Hi,
I'm struggling trying to specify a multinomial logit discrete choice model
in R.
Any help and/or code examples appreciated.
I am specifically interested in specifying a model where no universal choice
set exists and each choice set has a variable number of alternatives (one of
which is chosen) see data below.
Many Thanks,
David
PS I have asked earlier but without reply.
Is it

Modified discrete cosine transform
I am trying to learn something of the algorithms used in
Vorbis. One of them is the "Modified Discrete Cosine
Transform" (MDCT). I have found a couple of books with brief
descriptions of the DCT, but almost nothing about MDCT.
(1) is there just one Modified DCT, which can be
expected to be the same whenever someone uses that
name, or does it just mean that you have changed

DIscrete choice mlogit
Hi
I am trying to estimate stated preferences for Tv sets by using mlogit. The
choice set is designed as with 4 attributes: [ brand(has 4 levels),
technology(has two levels), class[has 4 levels), price(has 4 levels)]
There are 16 choice sets with 4 alternatives each one (i.e. each respondent
has evaluated 64 cards in total). Therefore, there are 64 rows in the table
below.
The data in csv file

How can I represent a shape using 1-D discrete wavelet descriptor s?
I only concern about the boundary of the shape and I don¡¯t concern gray
level.
U[m] = x[m] + jy[m] m= 0,1,¡,N-1 is the N points on the boundary.
It is easy to express U as a discrete Fourier series.
But it seems like that wd in the wavethresh package cannot deal with complex
values.
And it is not interesting to transfer U to a matrix.
Thanks a lot

discrete (binary) choice panel data
Dear all,
I haven?t used R for panel data analysis so far, but now I am looking for a package respectively some starting point for binary choice panel data analysis in R.
For starters most of my effects are individual and my dependent variable is just binary. Thanks for any suggestions in advance!
