[PATCH] drm/nouveau: use proper prototype in nouveau_pmops_runtime() definition
There is a prototype for this function in the header, but the function itself lacks a 'void' in the argument list, causing a harmless warning when building with 'make W=1': drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_drm.c: In function 'nouveau_pmops_runtime': drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_drm.c:730:1: error: old-style function definition [-Werror=old-style-definition] Fixes:

[PATCH] drm: compute runpm on load, don't register autosuspend for non-runpm
There was a proliferation of duplicated checks for runpm == -1 && optimus. Instead of continuing that tradition, get rid of all of them, only doing the optimus computation once on load. This should hopefully fix secondary cards suspending and then being unable to come back in non-optimus setups. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> Cc: <stable at

[PATCH RFC] nouveau: Add support for Gmux _DSM method
This patch certainly needs some more work, but I'd like to get some comments. Not sure if it is really related to the gmux or if it is a different Optimus _DSM version. I tested it on my laptop (MCP79/7A + G96) and the G96 successfully goes to sleep, however it is still marked as PWR in vga_switcheroo, despite `vga_switcheroo_set_dynamic_switch(pdev, VGA_SWITCHEROO_OFF)` being called. ---

[PATCH 3/5] drm/nouveau: Don't register Thunderbolt eGPU with vga_switcheroo
An external Thunderbolt GPU can neither drive the laptop's panel nor be powered off by the platform, so there's no point in registering it with vga_switcheroo. In fact, when the external GPU is runtime suspended, vga_switcheroo will cut power to the internal discrete GPU, resulting in a lockup. [PATCH] drm/nouveau: only runtime suspend by default in optimus configuration
The intent was to only enable it by default for optimus, e.g. see the runtime_idle callback. The suspend callback may be called directly, e.g. as a result of nouveau_crtc_set_config. [PATCH] drm: don't set the pci power state if the pci subsystem handles the ACPI bits
When looking into the runpm issues, the first workaround I came up with was setting the PCIe link speed to whatever it was before running devinit on the GPU. As I was playing around with my patches today, it seems like that just reworking the runpm bits itself fixed it on my machine as well. Hopefully this will be enough for other laptops as well. Anyhow, it's a nice rework and if it's

[PATCH 0/5] Thunderbolt GPU fixes
Fix Thunderbolt-related issues in apple-gmux and vga_switcheroo: Patch [1/5] ("Recognize Thunderbolt devices") has already been subjected to a fair amount of scrutiny over at linux-pci@, I've submitted it 5 times total since May 2016. With luck it may be in ack-able shape now. Patch [2/5] amends apple-gmux to handle combined DP/Thunderbolt ports properly on newer MacBook Pros.
