wine and jack => segfault?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I am new to this list and just wanted to ask a question regarding Wine and JACK: I'm running JACK as my sound daemon and today I installed Wine (from the APT-Repository). I setup my .wine directory with the help of winetools. So far everything works fine, except sound output (tested with wmplayer and a simple wav file). So I selected

Installation issue?
Greetings from a noob. I am having a little difficulty trying out Wine-20050111 on a fully updated athlon fedora core 2 system and hope other wine users can help. Review of the wine-users.pdf file included in the wine rpm and scanning some of the wine-users mailing list archives have not pointed to any solutions. I am trying to install Turbotax from a Turbtax distribution CD. (The only

Getting Word 97 working
I have just got word 97 working with wine. The key to it was using winetools. The versions I have used are: winetools - 2.1.1-jo wine - 20050111 Both were installed from rpm files onto my Fedora Core 2, Althlon 1.2 GHz, 256 MByte, xorg 6.7.0-14, GForce2, Nvidia driver version 6629. I went through all of the steps in the basic setup menu. But had to get the fonts from elsewhere - the site

Installing dcom98 on wine 20050111 using winetools
Hi, As suggested by Joachim, and after a fresh start using 20050111, I try to use winetools to set wine configuration. As described on: http://www.von-thadden.de/Joachim/WineTools/ I started the basic installation in which I also went through the dcom98 installation but got errors. First I got a wine window labeled "W95inf3.." stating "ThunkConnect32 Failure!!" and on

Wine tools problems?
Don't know if this is the right place to ask for winetools assistance, but.... I installed the wt210jo rpm along with the latest wine rpm (20050111) but whenever I try to launch the install for IE6 or any of the other applications in Winetools, everything errors out, saying that it can't find OLE32.DLL. Obviously I don't have any version of windows installed anywhere (and this is

Xilinx ISE: can't add file to project
Greetings, I've been experimenting with various versions of ISE from 5.2, 6.2, 6.3 and have been unable to get any working to a usable state. Version 5.2 won't allow me the option of adding any sort of schematic, state machine or HDL (only text and edif constraints files) to a project. Versions 6.2 and 6.3 seem to allow me to add any type of file (schematic, sm, vhdl, verilog, etc).

Winetools not working on my desktop
So, I installed Wine 20050111 and Winetools 2.1 on my desktop which is a P4 HT 3.4ghz ICH6 chipset based box. Redhat seems to function just fine on it, and I'm running the latest stable SMP Kernel. My problem is included in the following test. When I launch WineTools, it starts complaining about not being able to create directories and the such, but I'm running this as root (I can hear

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com? I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks. Desktop malfunction - Wine
So, this is the capture I got from running Wine alone on my desktop. Fedora Core 3, Wine 20050111, without Winetools. This is using the latest stable SMP kernel (don't have version number off the top of my head, -740 or something like that). I may have left out numerous dubious details. If so, please let me know... FWIW, this is installed off the latest RPM. >>>

problems installing wine
I just downloaded the latest version of wine from the site to install on my system. My system is an Athalon XP 2400+ running Fedora Core 3, fully updated. I downloaded the file wine-20050419-1fc3winehq.athlon.rpm and installed it, then installed winetools-2.1.1-jo.i386.rpm to go with it. I started winetools to do the configuration and completed each step of the base install one at a time until

wine-20050111 - missing MSVCR71.dll
Hi, Much older versions of Wine didn't seem to uncover this problem, but newer versions (since 12/04 I think) do. What's the most likely cause of this and how should I approach fixing it on my system? My current setup is wine-20050111 from source. After it was built all existing .wine directories were deleted and wine --version was run to set them up. I have not used Winetools yet.
