bug in paste?
Dear all,
I have strange problems with paste. Actually I suggest it is a bug (I
send a associated bug report for some days ago too).
I have a vector ce0, a character vector m and I paste them together:

Problem with yum on CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core) with 3.10.0-327.36.3.el7.x86_64 kernel
Everyone,
I am at a loss on this problem would appreciate some guidance as to
where to start to fix it.
I noticed that my home gateway server was not being updated with the
new kernel and other software, and when I ran yum it aborted with the
following notices. I tried a yum clean all, but this did not fix the
problem. I thought the problem may be related to one of the repos, but

Key exchange/selection badly broken in SNAP1014?
Hello all,
It seems the overhaul on key exchange/selection broke it badly. I haven't
managed to use any other encryption method than 3des and blowfish when
connecting to SNAP -> SNAP. SNAP -> 2.2.0p1 will use arcfour
etc. quite cleanly.
How SNAP -> SNAP looks like:

SATA DVD Burner / AHCI / CentOS 4.7 (kernel: 2.6.9-78.0.22.EL)
OK, it seems that the kernel I have (stock CentOS 4.7: 2.6.9-78.0.22.EL i686)
seems to gronk the nVideo SATA controller in AHCI mode. It is NOT able
to deal with the SATA DVD Burner I have. It is a "Sony Optiarc DVD
Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model AD-7241S-0B LightScribe
Support". Is there some special magic I need to do? Here is the
relevant bit from the boot up (SATA ports

zfs send hangs
My zfs filesystem hangs when transferring large filesystems (>500GB)
with a couple dozen snapshots between servers using zfs send/receive
with netcat. The transfer hangs about halfway through and is
unkillable, freezing all IO to the filesystem, requiring a hard
reboot. I have attempted this three times and failed every time.
On the destination server I use:
nc -l -p 8023 | zfs receive -vd sas

Windows XP Machines (well mostly the XP ones) hanging
Hello Folks,
I will personally send $50(AU) of Pizza to anyone that solves this one :)
We have a network comprising approx 30 Windows workstations all logging in
to a samba machine running as a PDC. The main exported file system is an NFS
mounted file system, but this was happening back when this was an xfs file
system as well. ACL's are enabled. We are running Samba Version 2.2.8a. The

RHL OpenSSH upgrade: _new_ sshd is not started
Hello all,
A few days ago I noticed that the following seems to happen when upgradign
OpenSSH on Linux-based (/etc/rc.d/init.d/sshd) based systems:
- sshd is restarted with 'sshd restart'; however sshd serving in port 22
is not replaced.
- you have to kill the old one (netstat -ltp | grep :ssh ; kill
...) first, then restart sshd.
- This might happen only when performing the upgrade

How do I check if the proper sata drivers are being loaded?
If they are not what can I do other then rebuilding the kernel?
Thank you in advance,
Randy

Selectively allowing port forwards
Hi!
The current version of sshd allows to restrict keys to issue only
specific commands. However, port forwarding can only be forbidden
entirely.
Given the following situation: A client C uses S as a POP3 server. We
want to poll E-Mail via POP3 from S to A via an ssh tunnel without
being asked for a password. Thus, we create a passphrase-less key pair
on A, transmit the public key to S and

Failing Hard Disk?
Hi All,
I am fairly certain that this disk is failing in my server, and I am
replacing it straight away anyway.
However, I'd appreciate the views of the list just to be sure as I value
your opinion(s).
I got these errors, once only so far, in /var/log/messages. This disk
has / on it.

Disk errors on CentOS 5 - libata bug?
I just installed CentOS 5 on a computer. On boot, I get the a error message,
related to 2 SATA disks. These errors did NOT appear on version 4.4 with the
EXACT same hardware.
Despite the error messages, the disks seem to be working with no problems.
Could someone please tell me what these error are and if there is some known
way to prevent them?
I searched the Net for these errors and they seem

'samba-tool dbcheck' reports only a "Bus error"
Andrew, thank you for your help! Could a "Bus error" be related to a
hardware problem? Never seen it before.
Anyways, here is the output of my debugging session (I hope I did
everything correctly):

dom0 crash, require assistance interpretting logs and config suggestions
Hello,
I have experienced a dom0 crash where the system became unreachable via
the network and the console was unresponsive. I would appreciate help
interpretting the logs and any configuration change suggestions.
It is a stock Debian Lenny dom0 running xen 3.2.1 with kernel
2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 and an AMD Athlon IIx4 with 4 GB of RAM. It is
running 4 VMs. One VM has two PCI NICs being

Does OpenSSH 3.x support KRB5 directly?
Just curious. There seems to be an awful lot in the source, but no
actual configure option.
Please advise.

CentOS 5 + Nforce 4 SLI Intel SATA problems
I've been having an extremely hard time using the on board SATA
controller on my nvidia based board. I have two 160gig Maxtor SATA
drives attached to the on board controller, setup as software raid0. The
problem is the array is extremely unreliable, where I'm getting constant
I/O errors like:

CentOS 6.4 installation fails with message "No usable disks have been found"
Hi folks,
I inherited a very old computer (I guess about 8 years old) which I'd
like to use for some training on CentOS. I downloaded images for CentOS
6.4 i386 (DVD 1 and 2) and burned them onto discs. After inserting DVD 1
into drive and booting, on the "Welcome to CentOS 6.4!" screen I select
"Install or upgrade an existing system". I then skip the media test and
