Tivo Desktop 2.1 - Anyone gotten this to work?
Searched the archives, and other then some discussion in March that ended with a log posting, I haven't seen anything on this. The Tivo Desktop software is the one thing that keeps me in a Windows world, and I'd REALLY like to move back to Linux :-) I'm familiar with JavaHMO and their replacement, Galleon. But while those allow you to copy shows to a Linux system, you can't play

Only one app keeps me on Windows - Can WINE free me?
Currently, there is only one application that is keeping me on Windows, and that is the TivoDesktop software that lets me DL episodes from my Tivo, and in conjunction with the DirectDump tool, allows me to convert those Tivo files to standard MPEG-2 files for editing. Does anyone have experience running TivoDesktop under any version of Wine under any distribution? I'm rather distro agnostic

TiVo To Go - aka TiVo Desktop 2.0
Anyone got this working under wine? It seems to want its beacon service running before the desktop will open. I've been looking, but so far, I haven't found anything on how to run windows services under wine. dcm

Icecast2 and TiVo
Hey guys, As some of you may or may not know, TiVo recently came out with an optional software package for their Series2 TiVo units. They call it "Home Media Option" and, among other things, it lets you play mp3s on your TiVo. So, some clever folks figure out that if you fed your TiVo and m3u playlist that pointed to an Internet stream, it would play that stream for you. Very

Sipura SPA-1001 and Tivo Series 1
Hi everyone, I just got a Sipura SPA-1001 and have connected my Tivo Series 1 (yes its old). When I do a test call with Tivo, the call always fails (it seems to dial the number but never connects). I can pick up the phone line and hear the Tivo "talking". I've tried looking around for anything special I need to do but its still not working. I can connect a phone to the SPA-1001

OT- GPL, Linux, TiVo
Tivo *has* released their changes to the Linux PPC kernel, as they are required to do by the GPL because they *have* distributed those changes... in every. single. machine. http://www.tivo.com/linux/linux.asp They have not released the source to their own application that runs on Linux, nor are they required to. I just tried to install TIVO Desktop. The process got part way through, then hanged. How do I go about un-installing it -- there is no "uninstall Tivo Desktop" selection in the Wine menu.

running diablo 3 in virtual desktop
I've gotten Diablo 3 working with wine, but it is only playable inside a virtual desktop. If I run it outside a virtual desktop, I can't even get past the login screen and the music stutters. Inside the virtual desktop, I only get around 10-12 fps. I've found as infernix on the "Diablo 3" app page has, that if I run wine with the backbuffer as the render target instead of

automount, samba, desktop.ini issues
Program: update_links.pl Author: Ryan Wyler <ryan@nhorizon.net> Problem this program solves: Windows machines taking a LONG time to browse shares of automount points which include directories that are inaccessable to the samba server. Explanation: We have our samba shares setup to mount the unix automount directories. The problem is there are MANY automount directories that the

Duplicate Desktop Icons...
Hi, I posted this problem a while back but wasn't able to resolve the issue. It's gotten worse--now almost all of my users in the network have the duplicate icon problem. I'm recently upgraded to samba-3.0.23d from 3.0.21 on an OpenBSD 4.0 server. I'm using folder redirection to redirect the Application Data, Desktop, My Documents, and Favorites folders off to

wine 1.3.7 / crashes pulling linux desktop down ?
I'm running the latest wine dev package. I've got a number of .exe programs that show installation complete. When clicking on finish button...both programs get so far as to briefly show their first display page, but then disappears taking the linux desktop down back to the desktop login page. I've got an x86_64 amd64 system running Debian Squeeze, 32MB ram, terra byte HD. My WINE is

multiple instances? Updated
Your query has actually been answered more than once. You don't need to define mounts in the icecast.xml file, the source clients (which connect to icecast and stream music to it) define the mount point by virtue of connecting to it. I use liquadsoap as a source client, and I set the mount point in liquadsoap to "jake-radio.mp3" like this: -------- 8< --------

Installing rgeos on Mac OS X 10.4 (was Re: "package 'stringr' does not have a name space"
I figured it out, at least enough to get rgeos's gSimplify function to work, which was my original goal; the stringr problem was with 0.2, however I got stringr 0.5 to install by changing the minimum version in DESCRIPTION from R2.11 to R 2.10. ... Wine virtual desktop + multiple applications running
I'm playing Anarchy Online through Wine on Ubuntu system. The game doesn't run on windowed mode so I'm forced to use fullscreen, however this is not the issue since I'm using virtual desktop emulation that gives me the window in which I can play the game and also Alt+Tab to other programs. Thing is that I'm using this addon thingie called Clicksaver while playing the game.

Wine lags A LOT when programs are started—and getting worse
Hi, I'm a pretty new Linux (Ubuntu) user, only a few weeks, and I few days ago I started having troubles with Wine. I posted this over at the Ubuntu Forums but haven't gotten a reply yet, so I thought I'd try here as well. I'll just quote my posts. First post: > First off I'm new to Linux, so sorry if you have to explain something twice to me. > > Basically my

Fullscreen support on dual head with virtual desktop
Is there a way to force the fullscreen property on wine virtual desktop? Since i'm running dual head with xinerama I usually run some applications in fullscreen on one monitor (like remote desktop) while still being able to use the second monitor Until recently I ran wine this way too, since a legacy hack in compiz fusion made it fullscreen, but an upgrade "fixed" the bug I had
