Puppet SSL cipher suites
Hey there,
I looked up puppet.conf documentation and there doesn''t seem to be any
option to choose which SSL cipher suites are used for communication.
Is there some way to configure which cipher suites are preferred?

Nagios purge deleted items and notify nagios service problem
I am using stored configs to manage my nagios host and services checks and
I have run into a problem that I have been unable to solve. When the
stored configs are purged from puppet the nagios server correctly removes
them from the services and hosts file but does not notify the nagios
service and instead throws an error. So the entries are still there and
nagios still reports on them until

There is no i386 hypervisor upstream any more (since Xen 4.3) and hence
no more xen-hypervisor-*-i386 packages in Debian Jessie onwards.

Storing passwords in LDAP, but not a PDC
Hello,
Is it possible to store samba passwords in ldap without configuring
samba as a PDC? All the documents/references I've come across are
related to using LDAP as a samba PDC backend, not as just a db file
replacement.
Thanks,

How does Asterisk choose the CDr backend to use?
Hi,
I'm trying to understand how Asterisk chooses the backend it's going to
use for storing CDRs. For example, if PostgreSQL, MySQL, and FreeTDS
are installed, how does Asterisk know which one to choose? Does it
choose which ever one is configured are forget about the rest or will it
send a CDR to each configured backend?
(I'd just go ahead and try it but I don't have an

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles,
Ok, I missed the absence from the backports as well. Again, some
unfamiliarity here, so
1) I presume I cannot use a metapackage meant for jessie or stretch on
wheezy? Or if I can, is there a way to deploy it from console?
2) If not and I use the 2.7.4 tar found at
http://networkupstools.org/download.html, do i just run the classical
process? i.e.
./configure
make
sudo make install

WG: Re: AW: nagios_service does not replace target file
This module does basically what I have done in the very beginning. Create an empty directory as a preparation step for the configuration files. But this configuration also did not regenerate the files. Seems, I will stick with my workaround and delete the files manually and the restart the Puppet agent. If anyone is interested in details, see: http://wp.me/p1RukY-1n.
Thanks for helping, Gabriel!

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles,
That package is supposed to install both server and client (according to
the description at https://packages.debian.org/stretch/nut anyway). I'll
try both server and client individually later and see if that helps.
Cheers,

Data Stale at random intervals
Hello All,
Been at this for a few weeks, so figured I'd reach out. I was previously running Debian Wheezy Nut Version 2.6.4 with no issues for over 6 months on the same hardware. This issue started when I upgraded to Jessie, so just trying to get everything happy again.
System is running "Linux golgotha.tklapp.com 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.36-1+deb8u1 (2016-09-03)

Data Stale at random intervals
Have done more Googling and searching around the system. Found that /lib/udev/rules.d/52-nut-usbups.rules has been changed to 62 by others and also in Sid (2.7.4) so gave that a shot. Will post back with results.

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles, Tim,
Ah, thanks for bit about the dependencies. Would have thought them to be
version specific.
Tried with the client and server debs but it seems too many dependency
differences between wheezy and jessie. I also tried upgrading from wheezy
to jessie wholesale to see if that worked and it did solve nut but in the
process broke something else that's more critical so I'll give

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles,
thanks for the clarification on the libusb. that indeed does work to get
the value in ./configure.
I've tried installing a .deb

Variable Scope in classes
I think I have a misunderstanding of variable scope in classes.
Wy isn''t tfel4_ClusterDbType set in the elements::tfel4::elements
class? It''s set in elements::tfel4::defaults but then goes *poof* when
elements::tfel4::elements tries to access it.
class elements::tfel4::defaults {
if ( !$tfel4_ClusterDbType ) {
$tfel4_ClusterDbType = "oracle"
}

Concatenated key
Hi all,
I started playing a couple days ago with Rails and it find it very
interesting.
But I''m a bit stuck with making it work with a concatenated primary key.
I want to use my own names for the DB fields and I''m using SQL Server
2005.
My tables look roughly like this:
CREATE TABLE USERS (
USR_ID VARCHAR(25) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
USR_PASS VARCHAR(25)
)

puppet tries to upgrade in client too. And as that package has a dependency
