usbhid-ups disconnects with Eaton Ellipse 1000S
My UPS is a Eaton Ellipse 1000S (But its identified as MGE Ellipse
0463:ffff).
I have been using the usb interface with the usbhid-ups driver, but I
found that sometimes (too much times) the driver doesn't respond and NUT
doesn't receive changes nor notifications from the UPS.
The kernel lose the connections with USB device, in the kernel logs

Problem with NUT and an Eaton 5PX UPS, usbhid-ups won't start
Hello,
I have trouble connecting to an Eaton 5PX UPS via the usbhid-ups
driver. It is supposed to be fully working according to the
compatibility list (support level 5).
OS: A fresh Debian stable install. Then changed the apt source to
unstable and did "aptitute update" and "aptitude install nut". Nothing
else. I did that, because the "unstable" package is a more

what I tried, I get an error which you can also is included in the below

Eaton 5E 2000i - incorrect values reported by usbhid-ups
Hi,
I've recently bought the UPS in subject to support a small load (around
60-80W). I've installed nut and did the basic configuration and confirmed
basic communication. At that stage I did not configure upsmon, but simply
was monitoring the values.
I carried out a test to see how long the setup would last - according to
the values reported via upsc - it should have been around 45mins.

Brand new EATON 3S700DIN (mfr.date 09/28/14) doesn't wait for LB flag
Sergey,
I?m no expert on this but I have been reading the driver code, trying to sort out bigger problems with the OpenUPS driver! I can make 2 observations that I can?t check out myself :
?beeper.disable? was previously ?beeper off? - and ?beeper.enable? was ?beeper.on?. Not sure if it?s worth trying the old versions?
If your UPS doesn?t wait for LB, could this be because there is another

[Nut-upsuser] Brand new EATON 3S700DIN (mfr.date 09/28/14) doesn't wait for LB flag
Hi Philip,
I've updated NUT to 2.7.3 and finally found the root cause for the
unexpected shutdown:
It is recommended to increase pollinterval to 10 seconds in ups.conf for
usbhid-ups driver due to a known issue:
http://www.networkupstools.org/docs/man/usbhid-ups.html
Default DEADTIME=15 in upsmon.conf was triggering shutdown. Increasing the
value to 30 seconds resolved the issue.

NUT and Eaton UPS produce a lot of error messages
Thanks for the info!
First, regarding the later detail about starting `usbhid-ups`: the
"Resource busy" indicates that likely an earlier instance of the NUT driver
(in its own service unit) is still running and holding the device. In a
worse case, some other programs might consider this a HID device (same
class family as keyboards and mice) and grab it somehow, or it gets passed
through

Question on EATON UPS
Also, just in case - are you in a virtualized environment? Is there
(intentional or not) USB pass-through to the UPSes? My hint is, we had
cases where a host or guest grabbed the device but it was not apparent from
the part of system running NUT.
