kerberos issue (SPN not found) with windows Hyper-V (samba 4.5.3 AD)
Hello, I've setup over 6 months ago samba 4 AD on centos 7.3 (self compiled from source). Up until now I didn't encounter any undocumented errors. I have 3 DC's (all samba 4.5.3) which are working pretty nice with over 60 windows clients. The issue I've stumbled upon is when I added Windows server Hyper-V hosts to the domain. Tried with Hyper-V from 2012, 2012r2 and new 2016

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Roger, Ok, so how does this look... Updated upsmon.conf:  https://hastebin.com/jisinaquso.pl > I'm guessing that the UPS supplies only the NAS, not the 3 Ubuntu machines. All these are super low power devices (two Intel NUCs and a Raspberry Pi) so at

How to setup the NUT client on Windows?
Hi Roger, Thanks very much for your answer. I appreciate! > The silence says that there is currently very little interest in NUT on > Windows, and to the best of my knowledge no-one is working on it. I would not argue the fact that there's obviously less interest in NUT on Windows than on Linux. But still, some few comments: 1/ There's maybe LESS interest, but there's some

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Hi Roger, I am not home, but when I do get home I will check out everything you've mentioned. I do have some time where I can give you a breakdown of my topology though. I have a feeling all of this is probably due to a configuration error somewhere on my part. Here's what I have done so far. *APC Back-UPS NS 650M1 UPS* ---USB---> *Synology NAS (DS416 - Master?)*

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Roger, I just ran a manual test, killing power and see what happens.  I set the Synology “Time before DiskStation goes into Safe mode” to 5 minutes so I didn’t have to wait like an hour until it powered down.  Here is the log: https://hastebin.com/ovuwilufeb.sql Everything appeared to be normal; the servers powered off and the Synology went into safe mode.  Power was then cut to the Synology

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Ok, so just a follow-up to my last email; still following that guide, which is great…. Just stuck on getting the nut-server service starting automatically.  Got everything else working.  I’ve been able to get the nut-client starting up automatically at boot up (I had a missing “1” in upsmon.conf.  Oooops!)  However, I cannot get nut-server service to start-up automatically still. proton at

SAMBA 4 as Active Direcotry and Hyper-V
Unfortunately i don't have any logs. Even from samba. I installed Samba from source (with option ads). After that, i used something like wizard to configure Samba as Active Direcotry Domain Controller. 2018-08-02 16:24 GMT+02:00 L.P.H. van Belle via samba <samba at lists.samba.org >: > Ok, what you use is your choice. Microsoft Hyper-V over SMB 3.0
We have a project about Microsoft Hyper-V by using our storage. We want to use Samba to share our storage to Hyper-V. And we know from Microsoft homepage hyper-v(windows 2012) only support smb3.0 protocol, but right now the newest version of Samba don?t? fully support SMB3.0 protocol. I tried the version of Samba4.0.6, Samba3.6.9, but both failed to create virtual hosts using Hyper-V.

SAMBA 4 as Active Direcotry and Hyper-V
Why use hyper-V, if you can a free Xen Server : https://xcp-ng.org/ Which is the same as Citrix Xen but free and all licences options enabled. Just have look. But for the hyperv, its not clear what you want exactly here. Check this link, im guessing this is close to what your looking for. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2108484-adding-smb-or-usb-shares-to-standalone-hyper-v-server

Communication with Hyper-V
Hi, I'm interested in using libvirt to communicate with Microsoft's Hyper-V. I'm trying to use virsh, but with no success. I have a machine that runs Windows Server Developer Preview with Hyper-V on it, ip x.x.x.x I set the service Basic and AlloUnencrypted properties on this machine to true, as required I also have a Linux machine x.x.y.y, with libvirt installed. This is what I get:

Hyper-V 2008 R2 support ?
Hi, I'm trying libvirt to connect to Hyper-V servers. It works fine for Hyper-V 2012 servers, however it doesn't work for Hyper-V 2008 R2 (the exact error is | Call to virConnectOpenAuth failed: internal error: Transport error during enumeration: Could not connect (7) (Libvirt::ConnectionError)|.). I'm using the code provided by libvirt documentation
