Wine and Music Collector. No startup?
Hi.
I'm trying to get my version of the program 'Music Collector' to start
under Wine (20050524) but no luck.
Website: http://www.collectorz.com/music/
(I'm trying to use current version 6.7, build 5)
The program extracts and installs with no problems. It's just that when
I try to run the executable, Wine seems to "go to sleep" and later on
exit.

CENTOS and INTEL S775 C2D E6750 2.66G 1333 RTL
I am building a Centos machine for a specific piece of third party
software.
Can I assume that the IA64 verson of CENTOS 4.5 will run on this CPU?
Are there any differences in basic libraries between 4.0 and 4.5?

Upgrading subversion
Hello,
I?d like to install subversion system in our server (CentOS-4.4)
up2date has the subversion-1.1.4-2, but subversion is already
on verson 1.4.2
Perhaps I loose good features if I install subversion-1.1.x, but I
prefer to use the version delivered by up2date, of course.
1) What do you suggest?
If I try to install subversion-1.4.2 from source it asks for apr and
apr-util version 0.9.7 or

Mean calculated from R1.9.1 different from R2.0.1
Hello,
I ran my simulations on the Unix verson of R1.9.1 and the Windows version
of R2.0.1 on XP. I kept getting different values for the mean of the same
column of the same matrix, and am perplexed. I would appreciate if anyone
could help explain the difference?
Here is a sample code:
set.seed(7293)
z1v <- rnorm(1000, mean=68, sd=13)
z1v <- (z1v-mean(z1v))/sd(z1v)
Using R1.9.1 on Unix,

Compiles on Slackware 8
I've been using Slackware for a decade or so - pretty much
since it came out. The question is:
Has anyone been able to get any verson of WINE to compile and
run on Slackware 8?
If yes - then the obvious: which release?

need a help for using AEC
speex-devDear Jean-Marc Valin
I got some problems with evaluating the AEC module of speex. I wrote a test main function and compiled it with the speex lib in VC6.0, it initialized the AEC state and called the AEC main function in the same way as what was done in testecho.c. The near-end input wave file was a simple delaying and adding version of the far-end input wave, eg. y(n) =

Problem (bug?) with vector indices
Hi all,
I found a problem on R that looks like a bug to me. I am working with R
for windows verson 1.9.0, but the problem also happens on the linux
version 1.9.0. I hope that the problem is on my reasoning, and I would be
grateful if someone could explain me why this happens.
There goes the example:
> x<-seq(-2,2,0.001)
> y<-rep(0,length(x))
> for (i in x){y[1000*i+2001]<-i^2}

flock a file in a NT server
Hi,
I'm writing an application with C under Linux and I'm trying to use the
flock system function to lock a file of an NT4 Server over Samba. The
problem is that the lock works well within the same machine but if it
is a process on another machine (the same program) the one that tries
to access the locked file, the process is not blocked until the lock is
released but given full access

RE: ext3 "noload" option to mount returning error in 2.4.9 & 2.4. 18 s eries kernel
It's already mounted rw somewhere else. This enables
the needs_recovery feature which prevents an ext2 mount.
