NUT runs the notify script as the "nut" user on many systems, including Debian. Check to see if $PATH is set the same,

Having trouble updating glibc on Centos 6.3
rpm -q glibc
gives me:

However I need glibc-2.15

CentOS vs. Nokia Phones
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I have been trying to access my Nokia 6230 using a DKU-2 data cable from
CentOS, with some weird results.
Interesting thing is that I have VMWare installed on this machine and, if
I install the Nokia Suite inside it, it can access the phone without
problems. So all hardware related parts are working.
Anyway, kernel load the cdc_acm module, and gives

Execute command after hangup / MWI
Hi guys,
is there any way to execute a command *after* a caller has hung up the
call? Something like
exten => s,1,Voicemail
exten => s,2,AGI(mwi.agi)
I'd like to turn off the MWI on my cellphone (which is done by gammu[1])
Or does anyone know a way to check the state of the MWI from outside,
i.e. with a cron-job? I'm turning on the MWI with the email-notify from
voicemail, but

Serial Passthrough broken in Debian Wheezy?
Hello,
I just discovered a strange bug with serial passthrough in xen 4.1 on
Debian Wheezy. The Dom0 has a GSM modem connected to serial port. The
serial port is passed through to a DomU with options 'irq = [ 4 ]' and
'ioports = [ '3f8-3ff ]'.
This worked as expected on Debian Squeeze with Xen 4.0 and Linux kernel
2.6.32 (both for Dom0 and DomU). On Debian Wheezy with Xen

OT: MWI on Treo 600/650
My cell vm goes to asterisk, not the carrier. Apparently MWI is turned
on/off with specially formatted SMS messages. Anyone know how to do this
on a Treo 600? Having the phone light from Asterisk would be HUGE ...
not to mention extremely cool.

USB
I have been migrating from WinXP to Ubuntu Linux, and all but one of my
essential applications can be accommodated. The exception in the PC Sync
software for my mobile phone, which I need to download photos to the
computer. The setup disc runs under WINE, but the sync screen does not work,
presumably because USB drivers cannot be set up (the phone memory is not
accessible from Windows Explorer, so

Sieve notify messages
Hi All
I'm using dovecot 2.0.16 with the pigeonhole plugin 0.25.
I'm trying to use the notifiy mechanism from sieve to send notifications
when a mail arrives in the mailbox. The message is checked to be a 8bit
message, otherwise it is replaced by the default message "Notification
of new message." How can I create a 8bit message body within the sieve
script that is accepted

NOTIFYCMD not running
I have the nut package installed and running - everything perfect (or so I
thought). My syslog shows everything looks great, and pulling the UPS plug
for a few seconds triggers a WALL event, but not my notifycmd (which should
write a test message to syslog).
Can someone offer insight/ideas as to why my NOTIFYCMD is not running?
Thanks,
Michelle

NOTIFYCMD
hi everybody
I'm looking for pager.txt which upsmon.conf mentions of, but
could not find it anywhere including the sources?
I'd presume that via NOTIFYCMD I could get the stuff emailed,
does anybody have more experience solving such problem?

problem with NOTIFYCMD
I have been racking my brains on this and just can't figure it out.
In upsmon.conf I defined NOTIFYCMD as /etc/nut/notifyme.sh
I did CHMOD 755 /etc/nut/notifyme.sh
I put a line in /etc/nut/notifyme.sh to echo a simple message when it is
called and the message never shows on an open terminal whenever I pull the
plug to the UPS.
I do, however get a WALL broadcast message to that open

problem with NOTIFYCMD
After some testing, I notice that my NOTIFYCMD script seems to work if I
call it as user 'john' (that's me) but if I call it as 'root' it does not
work. So is there a permissions issue ? I have permission on the file set
to 755. I see there is a variable in upsmon.conf called RUN_AS_USER. I do
not have this defined. Does this variable need to be defined ? I presume
that if

NOTIFYCMD shell script problem driving me NUTS
Either I am missing something or I am really STUPID.
1. I have added a user, named nutmon, to the nut group.
2. In upsmon.conf I have set RUN_AS_USER nutmon .
3. I have NOTIFYCMD /etc/nut/notifyme.sh and it is set as 755, so should be
executable by everyone.
4. I have the NOTIFYFLAG set as SYSLOG+WALL+EXEC, so the shell should
execute.
This is the shell script :
#!/bin/bash

# NUT NOTIFYCMD

notify-send needs a DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADRESS to work right. Look around
for code snippets to get this.
