It is unclear to me what you are trying to do here. My understanding is that the Synology software embeds NUT, and that there is an "upsd.users" file somewhere

Issue with slave FSD notification on Windows port of NUT
I have the latest version of the Windows port of NUT installed on my Windows?7?machine. The UPS is connected via serial cable to the Windows machine. I also have my Synology NAS (which uses NUT) connected over the local network as a slave to the Windows NUT master. The Synology slave is configured to immediately go into "safe mode" whenever an FSD or OB+LB indication is received from the

NUT for iOS
I spent now a few hours in the attempt to get NUT installed and up and running. I'm just fed up with this type of wasting time. There should be a simple app I can download and install and a GUI for the configuration. No fiddling around with multiple config files, setting up services to autostart, etc. That feels so much like the 90s when I started with computers. I'm over that time? Can

The Nas can be connect to a NUT, hence my endavour to install NUT as a server on Lion. Not sure yet if i need NUT on the Windows VM or if the Mac can just suspend the VM. The Mac recognized the UPS automatically and i tried to install NUT,

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Roger, I just ran a manual test, killing power and see what happens.  I set the Synology “Time before DiskStation goes into Safe mode” to 5 minutes so I didn’t have to wait like an hour until it powered down.  Here is the log: https://hastebin.com/ovuwilufeb.sql Everything appeared to be normal; the servers powered off and the Synology went into safe mode.  Power was then cut to the Synology

Synology shares not accessible...
I have had many discussions with Synology about this and other attitudes they have been displaying in the last few years. Also if you log into their NAS, using ssh and take a look at some of the comments that have been added into the "ETC" configs, it makes it very clear. They have also been removing any posts relating to methods or help given in the forums that relate to SAMBA ,

gluster + synology
Hi, Does anyone have any experience of using Synology NAS servers as bricks in a gluster setup? The ops team at my work prefers Synology since that is what they are already using and some of the nice out-of-the-box admin features. From what I can tell Synology runs a custom linux flavor so it should be possible to compile gluster on it. Any first hand experience with it? Thanks, Ben

Can't open shares using netbios names
I need a pointer to what Fine Manual I should go read to set up my netbios name resolution, because all my attempts to use netbios names are being resolved against dns ... I have one subnet (192.168.2/24), with several Fedora 11 machines and several Windows XP machines, and a couple SMB/CIFS NAS units which also share printers. No domain, it's all just a workgroup. The WinXP machines

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Larry, I have not edited a single file, including anything to do with NUT, on the Synology via ssh.... ever. How is yours configured in the UI? Do you have it set to go into safe mode after a certain number minutes? Earlier, I was just copying and pasting the contents of some files to Roger but did not change anything. -- Todd Benivegna // todd at benivegna.com On Aug 14, 2020, 8:16 AM -0400,

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
So I finally got a test in after I changed my RPi to the master and everything else (including my Synology) to slaves.  Before I did that though, I timed the shutdown of my Synology since it is the slowest slave to shutdown.  It took 40 seconds to shutdown, so I changed HOSTSYNC in upsmon.conf on the master (“Proton”) to 60.  I then did a test ("sudo upsmon -c fsd”). The slaves shutdown, then

Thanks Larry, no problem. I appreciate the input. Whenever you get a chance I’d really like to compare notes with someone who has NUT and a Synology to see why the heck mine doesn’t work! ;). I’m also using my Pi as the master like you. Thanks. Todd -- Todd Benivegna // todd at benivegna.com On Aug 14, 2020, 11:55 AM -0400, Larry Fahnoe <fahnoe at fahnoetech.com>, wrote: > On Fri, Aug
