Start Windows application from another windows application
Hi all,
Being a little (completely) fed-up with windows, I'd like to make a complete switch to Linux, which I already use for about 90%. I still use a specific panorama photo stiching program within WinXP called PTGui.
The PTGui program runs fine within Wine. However, PTgui knows/uses two "helper" programs called autopano(.exe) and enblend(.exe). Both are console based executables

Hi Rein (and others),
I shrunk one of my partitions, crated a new ext3, installed Fedora Core
3, downloaded the wine 20050419 rpm from winehq and installed that too.
I then installed ptgui, panotools en autopano.
autopano runs flawlessly and creates a good ptgui project file, but
murphy hasn't left me. Now ptgui dumps.

I use KDe and as fedora/RedHat is very much Gnome

[Fwd: Re: [Fwd: Re: Start Windows application from another windows application]]
Just some extra info:
I used my knoppix 3.8.1 CD (which I occasionally use on my company XP
laptop) to boot and I installed ptgui, panotools, autopano and enblend
(which required some tweaking due to the ramdisk config). Everything ran
fine as it used to do in windows. Knoppix 3.8.1 is a modified debian
system running kernel 2.6 and it uses wine 20050310.
So my problem can't be a hardware

PTgui.exe runs fine on one Kubuntu 6.0.6 pc but not on the other
Hi all,
I'm trying to run ptgui.exe on my kubuntu box. I'm already trying for
about 3-4 months. (Actually I also tried it about 1,5 years ago.) I'm
running wine version 0.9.20, but my problem already goes back to 0.9.13
or so.
When I couldn't get ptgui to run on my laptop, I installed the base X
packages and wine also on my server. My server (also) runs ubuntu 6.06

Timing related application crash
Hey all,
I have an application (autopano:
http://autopano.kolor.com/autopano_v103.zip) that I've ran on 32 bit
systems for a while successfully. However, when I try to run it on my
64 bit desktop using either the 32 or 64 bit version of WINE I am having
difficulties by getting a "divide by 0 error". There are no other
console messages (such as WINE FIXMEs) before this. After

Call to unimplemented function SHELL32.dll.723
Howdy-ho
I'm trying to launch explorer.exe to show a Windows desktop.
I read somewhere that I should use some native DLLs, so my
configuration is the default auto-generated .wine with some native
DLLs on top:
# cd
# cd .wine/drive_c/windows
# cp /mnt/windows/windows/explorer.exe .
# cp /mnt/windows/windows/system32/{shlwapi,rpcrt4,ole32,oleaut32,shdocvw}.dll

problem running Ashlar's Drawingboard
I have an old application from 1995 (Ashlar's Drawingboard), which
is the only software for which I still have to use VMware.
All others run in wine now.
In the latest version of wine (0.9.1 on Suse 10.0), I could not
install Drawingboard, but I copied the applicable folder from the
Windows 2000 installation and I have been able to run the program
once, until it crashed (after a couple of

Problem w/ SJava package
Hello,
Seems like it is almost working properly. I was able to run examples calling
R from Java successfully for the java code below. However, some commands,
such as "objects" when not commented out, give me the following error? If
you could point me to the correct place to find a solution, I would much
appreciate it. I am new to the R community and not sure where is the

SecureCRT and Wine 0.9.4
Hi,
I installed Wine 0.9.4 package for Suse 10 and configured it with WineTools 0.9.3jo. Internet
Explorer 6 and other Windows software installs and run fine. I have a problem running SecureCRT
(version 5.0.0 and 5.0.4). I used the suggestion found in the application DB, i.e. installing with
version=winxp and run it with version=win98. The installation run fine but when I run the
