Issue with Mavericks Mail Client
We run a dovecot mailserver. One of the clients I use is a Mac Laptop. Recently I upgraded from Mountain Lion (10.8) to Mavericks (10.9). Under 10.8 it worked fine. On 10.9 it syncs up when I invoke the client, but after a while stops getting updates. Most of my mail clients are on Linux (thunderbird) or Android (K9) and I admit that several run against my very large INBOX simultaneously. The

NUT - General Concept Question
I've been looking over the documentation and several installation guides for NUT, and I'm starting to get a little bit of a feel for what it is. But I'm still not clear whether what I'd *like* to accomplish is actually practical using NUT. Perhaps someone here can tell me if they've done something similar, or if I'm way off base. I would like to set up a Linux host as a

failed creating protocol instance to play queued url
I run thunderbird (both 3.x and 5.x) against dovecot 2.x and frequently see delays "loading message". I admit to having a very large mailbox and running multiple imap clients. I've turned on thunderbird debugging, and at least one pattern I see in the log during the delays (maybe a minute long) is the failed protocol message above. These are no the only delays, but are the ones

Mozilla Dtrace and Tabs?
I use a lot of tabs and Firefox runs very slowly. I would like to figure out which tabs are eating up resources (cpu, memory, etc). Will the Mozilla dtrace framework be any help with this? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

run latent class analysis with R
What's the best approach to running latent class analysis with R? I've downloaded both randomLCA and poLCA packages, but I am interesting in running a standard LCA with individual records (not frequency table) as input data. GUI client?
It's very nice to see that NUT now supports my Belkin Universal UPS. Great work! Now I'm wondering if there's a GUI client that will build/run on a modern distribution. KNutClient requires an outdated version of Qt, and the "UPS Monitor" link leads to a Spanish error page. Thanks! -- ======================================================================== Ian Pilcher

collectd leaks SIGCHLD == SIG_IGN into plugins
Peter Dimitrov and myself were debugging a very peculiar bug when libguestfs is run as a plugin from collectd: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-November/thread.html#00023 The long story short is that collectd leaks SIGCHLD == SIG_IGN setting into plugins: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-November/msg00095.html This means that any plugin that does the usual

New contributed document available on CRAN
R Community: In case you haven't seen it, I have written a manuscript called "The R Guide" that is available in the Contributed Documents section on CRAN. It is about 50 pages in length and it is written for the beginning R user. I use the guide in my undergraduate probability and math stat sequence, but it is pretty accessible for anyone with a basic understanding of statistics.

Mounting VM filesystem on host while VM running
Hello, All my VMs are using LVs created on the host side. I'm using collectd to monitor some of the ressources of my host as well as the libvirt pluging to monitor my VMs. Collectd has an interesting plugin ( df ) which can monitor the filesystem usage. I would like to use it to monitor the VMs filesytsem usage. As it is obvious that if I mount the VM filesystem on the host while the

problem with output voltage on a mustek ups
Hi there I have a Mustek PowerMust 1000 USB using serial port /dev/ttyS0. I use nut 2.2.1 with the megatec driver on Debian Lenny (testing), running on an AMD64 X2. (I was using a Debian Etch as slave, but to keep it simple I turned it off) My problem is that sometimes the UPS is running OK, but when the message "UPS is trimming incoming voltage" appears on knutclient (i.e. OL TRIM in

Re: guestfs_launch() fails when C application is started as a systemd service
Here are strace outputs per process. strace_output.22076 is the plugin's pid. (A little before forking) strace_output.22077 runs qemu-img strace_output.22078 is a mystery to me strace_output.22079 is rm -rf to the overlay image and its temporary dir.
