ancient directx version support
What is the status of support for directx2 apps? The "failed to create surface" error in MissionForce: Cyberstorm seems to have persisted forever... I have a +relay log of the said game launch session, (if somebody wants it, i can provide the full version) -- it appears that the graphics backend call pair which causes trouble is to winex11.drv.GetDCEx()/

LoadOEMResource crash [Was: Re: Problem report: SHRINKER.ERR, fix to DEVICE_Open/CreateFileA? ]
Hi Pavel, Right, my app also crashes in a different place under winedbg, although it crashes in the same winedbg place under gdb. I took a closer look at wine --winver nt40 --debugmsg +all. I found something interesting. If I search for queue_exception, I find that there is an exception raised before the LoadOEMCall, about 328klines in: 0806d398:Call

incompatible character encodings: UTF-8 and ASCII-8BIT
Hi as part of our setup we have erb templates that are SQL files, we parse then to add in some user details to the SQL (these come from a hiera json file created from PHP) before using that file to create the database. If that data includes UTF-8 characters (for example an e with an acute accent) we get the error: Failed to parse template Detail: incompatible character encodings: UTF-8 and

RE: 256 colors (8bit) graphics not working
I couldn't get my newsreader to access the original message, here is a link: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine/browse_thread/thread/4fdffdcd95559ee4/2295952f8bfc8817?tvc=2&q=256#2295952f8bfc8817 Not sure if it is applicapable to the original poster, but figured I'd post this for posterity. I was getting a 'need to run in 256 color mode' message

"incompatible character encodings: ASCII-8BIT and UTF-8"
Hi! Just started to learn Rails, and I get this error when i''m trying to make a simple forum-app (much like the screencast about making a blog in 15min at rubyonrails.org). This appears when I try to render a partial - that is posting a comment containing swedish letters å (å), ä (ä) and ö (ö). I can view those posts by going to localhost:3000/posts/ using

VNC/XEPHYR/8bit/256 colour mode and wine
i did some research about old games on new computers; found a link pointing me to vnc or xephyr; downloaded both, couldnt even get vnc to function, xeph did ok, except for the purpose to which i wanted it for. the game will not even start in wine; its warcraft 2; before i used xeph i could start it until i tried bnet; then colour mode kicked me out; now i cannot start it, whats the deal? also

[LLVMdev] New 8bit micro controller back-end
Hello Guillaume, > - Is there estimation (from your experiences) of the work required to > implement a backend for a simple 8bits micro controller architecture (1 > men-month, 10 or 100 ?) What is the instruction set of your microcontroller? How rich it is? What is the architecture? Is it RISC-y? -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Saint

[LLVMdev] New 8bit micro controller back-end

My estimate is something like a man-week for a person, who knows what to do :) I guess the instruction set is pretty similar to msp430's for which we already have a backend. In such situation you might just grab this backend, remove all 16-bit

[LLVMdev] New 8bit micro controller back-end
Ok great news but as currently I don't have the "know what to do", it would probably take longer... I suppose your estimate only include backend update. Can I have more detail about the Simulator/Debugger part(at an assembler level?) ? I'm not sure if LLVM is able to provide such functionalities. 2009/11/23 Anton Korobeynikov <anton at korobeynikov.info> > Hello >

[LLVMdev] New 8bit micro controller back-end
Hello, David > That's pretty optimistic, even for someone who knows what to do. It depends on the target. If it is pretty straightforward, than you can do almost all the stuff automatically. The estimate I provided was the real time for first working version for msp430 backend. If it is just 'normal' RISCy architecture and one should not care about ABI weirdness (this is usually

[LLVMdev] New 8bit micro controller back-end
I won't work at full time on this project and I fear the first week is used to read documentations :) The better way to have an idea is to start backend developement. I'll try to work on this backend for a month and will see if I'm on the right way. 2009/11/24 Evan Cheng <evan.cheng at apple.com> > > On Nov 24, 2009, at 8:30 AM, David Greene wrote: > > > On

rsync with 8bit filename characters or UTF8
Hello all I'm having a problem that is driving me nuts. I am syncing directories that have characters which are not 7-bit Latin encoded, ie. ??? ' and the likes. I'm using a windows/cygwin client machine on one side and a FreeBSD server on the other side. I use an include/exclude list to specify which directories to sync. If I have a c:\backup\l?l c:\backup\bla I put +

Tif image to 8bit colour matrix.
Dear listers, I have a collection of tif images that I would like to convert, in R, to a matrix containing the values of the 8bit colour. Ideally, I would like a matrix for each of the colour channels (red, blue and green). I have 'googled' and searched the help list but have yet to find a solution and hope that someone can point me in the right direction. I currently use
