driver for Victron Multiplus RS485
Hi All,
I'd like to modify an existing driver to support my Victron Multiplus
inverter/charger. This device is not supported by the victron driver.
I do have serial protocol definition from Victron - which is a big bonus...
Could anyone tell me which of the existing drivers will be easiest to
modify? Thanks
Thanks

megatec driver support "Numeric Digital 3000 sw"
Hi,
I am not sure if you are the list to hit with this, but NUT's megatec
driver support ours "Numeric Digital 3000 sw" UPS - at least that's
what it claims on front- at the Watcher telescope at Boyden
Observatory / RSA. I wasn't able to find manufacturer, but it looks
Numeric is some existing UPS factory. I did not receive any
informations from manufacturer, so I believ

Udev rules troubles: incorrect ACTION expression?
G'day, all!
It's my second trouble with NUT. Latest nut-2.6.1.tar.gz installed from
source on Xenserver 5.6 SP2, UPS is Powercom WOW--500U FW3.A4 (USB).
Problem with setting permissions for udev (described in
/etc/udev/rules.d/52-nut-usbups.rules file):
ACTION!="add|change", GOTO="nut-usbups_rules_end" don't work for me. Only

NUT supporting Modbus TCP
Hi!
I was wonering if there is a driver that supports communicating with a Modbus
aware device over IP. I have a solar/wind invertor that can broadcast its state
and I would like to monitor the batteries. If they discarge to a certain voltage
or come to a defined state, I would perform a shutdown. All of this information
id provided in Modbus holding registers. This could of course be done

New variables for Victron/GE UPS
Hello,
I've investigated some new commands (variables) for Victron/GE UPS.
Unfortunatelly, I'm not a good programmer, so I cannot to modify the
driver code by myself.
May be, is it possible to add these variables to the main project?
Variables are:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GET: vZ1f? "no load shutdown (i.e.

NUT supporting Modbus TCP
Yeah, I have its datasheet (it's a Xantrex XW invertor by the way). I do not know why creating a more-or-less generic driver is an issue. Of course, there are Modbus beasts that can scare everyone but mostly one would need to read either intreger or float numbers out of Modbus registers in order to decide whether or not to start or stop the shutdown process.

R vs S-PLUS with regard to memory usage

anyone know why package "RandomForest" na.roughfix is so slow??
Hi all,
I am using the package "random forest" for random forest predictions. I
like the package. However, I have fairly large data sets, and it can often
take *hours* just to go through the "na.roughfix" call, which simply goes
through and cleans up any NA values to either the median (numerical data) or
the most frequent occurrence (factors).
    I am going to start

I've kludged together a solution for those times here by using the NAT

Dear Fellow *-ers,
First, you guys are fantastic. Keep fighting the good fight.
Second, it sounds like comments in the code are coming, which sounds
welcome by all, even those of us who couldn't code their way out of a
papersack, but who need to read the source.
Last, I might be traveling to Europe (from US) & want to tow along

question regarding "varImpPlot" results vs. model$importance data on package "RandomForest"
Hi everyone,
I have another "Random Forest" package question:
   - my (presumably incorrect) understanding of the varImpPlot is that it
should plot the "% increase in MSE" and "IncNodePurity" exactly as can be
found from the "importance" section of the model results.
      - However, the plot does not, in fact, match the "importance"

manipulating the Date & Time classes
Hello,
This is mostly to developers, but in case I missed something in my
literature search, I am sending this to the broader audience.
   - Are there any plans in the works to make "time" classes a bit more
friendly to the rest of the "R" world? I am not suggesting to allow for
fancy functions to manipulate times, per se, or to figure out how to
   properly

ideas, modeling highly discrete time-series data
Hello all,
First of all, thanks so those of you who helped me a week or so ago
managing a time series with varying gaps between the data series in 'R'.
(My final preferred solution was to use "its" function & then
forecast(Arima( ) ). )
My next question is a general statistical question where I'd like some
advice, for those willing / able to proffer any wisdom:
