libwine 20041019 needed
Hello,
I am deinstalling wine and reinstalling at the
20041019 level. I'm running the 2.6.11.7 kernel with
the debian distribution. In Aptitude I need to
reinstall wine, winetools and libwine. I can find the
20041019 version for everything except libwine. I
think libwine must be known by a different name in the
rest of the *nix world. I am downloading the RH9 RPM

wineboot && wineserver
Hi all,
I'm currently writing a simple script for a few friends to install a
soft with wine.
The point is wineserver is not in the path of my user. Should I call it
directly from /usr/lib/wine ?
Another wine bin is not found : wineboot ? Is it linked with my distro
(Kubuntu/Debian based) ? Is it included in a lib I did not install ? Is
it installed in further versions (I use 20041019,

Notes 6.5.3 FR && wine > 20041201
Hi,
I tried the two last wine versions on my linux box (Mandrake 10.1) and
I'm still meeting problems while opening new tabs (Replication for exemple).
There still are regressions in this releasen comparing with 20041201.
I'm switching back to this good-working version.

Program Files ?
Hi,
I was wondering if wine's "Program File" folder always is named "Program
Files" or if it changes depending on you Locale, like Windows
behaviour... For exemple, in Portuguese, is it names "Arquivos de
programas" ?

comctl32.dll native implies commctrl.dll native ?
Hi,
I'm trying to install an app that use InstallShields to install. The
process wants to upgrade comctl32.dll when using builtin one. So, I
swithed to native. And using native forces me to have commctrl.dll.
Wine does not provide commctrl.dll, so, am I obliged to download it or
get it from a regular windows install ?
Is there any way to avoid switching comctl32.dll to native ?
Thanks

Specific DllOverrides won't work...
Hi all,
I recently succeed using on of my apps under Wine. But with the config,
I meet a problem : I can't have both IE and my app workig, due to the
use of native comctl32.dll and commctrl.dll.
I wanted to specify this only for my app, as others won't work if I set
it as global DllOverride.
So here is what I did :

Best wine version for Office 2000
Hello All!
I currently use wine version 20040716-1.2, a rather old release, but up
to now I had no problems with that.
Today I tried to install Office 2000, i need primarily Excel.
Installation seems to work, after this I added the directories for
vbe6.dll and msoeuro.dll to the path (...program files/common
files/microsoft shared/...), because on a previous excel execution wine
said it

Today I downloaded the latest WINE version from CVS, and I'm still

SF site cracked ?
A new release, called wine 0.9.3, is available on Debian/Ubuntu
directory of the sf site. However, such a release has not beeen
announced : winehq.org still advertises 0.9.2 as the last release.
Is this a legitimate release with a late announcement, or an intrusion ?

i'm running mepis (debian unstable) and if i install wine from the

Notes crashing when printing
Hi,
I recently installed Notes 6.5.3 over a Mandrake 10.1. I'm using wine
20041201.
When I try to print, Notes always crash. Which debug trace should I look
at to see the problem ?
Is it a known problem ?
Thanks.

Differents apps with different wondows version
Hi all,
I was wondering if changing windows version for an app would affect its
behaviour. I mean, I have an app that requires IE. So I used Sidenet
script to install it. But it installs a Win98 version. So fat, my app no
more claims for IE, but running it in Win98 config make it need a native
comctl32.dll and though a native commctrl.dll.
I was wondering if changing the app version to Win2K

Is anyone using X.org instead of XFree86 implementation of X Windows?
I just upgraded my machine from Slackware 9.1 (using XFree86) to Slackware 10.0 which uses X.org instead. A simple notepad.exe gives errors when started. This did not have this problem under the previous setup. Is anyone using X.org ???

wine-20050211 on SuSE 9.2
I am trying to install wine-20050211 on my second system, which runs
SuSE 9.2. After much faffing around I finally managed to download and
install bison, which allowed ./config to complete. A warning at the end
advised me to install xlib-devel or xfree86-devel. Googling around I
found the RPM for XFree86-devel for SuSE 9.1 so I downloaded it and
started to install it. Unfortunately, a
