Best prometheus exporter for Dovecot 2.3 with the new metrics/stats module
Hi ppl.
I am trying to locate the best prometheus exporter for use with Dovecot 2.3 in connection with the new metrics/stats module.
Any pointers in the right direction will be appreciated - seems like there is a bunch out there which all works with the old stats module.
Anybody have something ?in the works? for 2.3 ?
Kind Regards,

[Gluster-devel] Gluster Health Report tool
Hi,
since people are suggesting nagios then I can't resist suggesting exporting
the metrics in the prometheus format,
or at least making the project into a library so
https://github.com/prometheus/client_python could be used to export the
prometheus metrics.
There has been an attempt at https://github.com/ofesseler/gluster_exporter
but it is not maintained anymore.
Cheers,
Marcin

NSD 4.12.0rc1 pre-release
Hi Jannik,
What's the rationale behind the "--enable-prometheus-metrics" compile-time
option? If this code were compiled by default, would it do any harm?
The reason I'm asking this is that features that can be enabled/disabled at
compile-time make package distribution complicated. It can result in a
scenario where NSD packages on different operating systems or distributions

Samba Performance Monitoring?
What is the impact of turning profiling on?
profiling support = on
More specifically, we're setting up a custom Prometheus exporter for Samba,
but smbstatus does not provide a whole lot of detailed information for
samba health, etc. I was hoping for more detailed information that we can
forward to Prometheus.
So my question is:
   1. What options exist for efficiently getting metrics?

CTDB Statistics Definitions and Scheme?
Hi Team,
I'm working on a CTDB Prometheus Exporter. I have two questions...
First, does anyone have an "internal" cheat sheet on the metrics and their
descriptions? I didn't really see much online, or in the source code.
Thanks

Using Dovecot for a Geo-replicated World-wide Email Service
Hello everyone,
my colleagues and I from Technische Universit?t Berlin are currently
looking into the best way to setup a Dovecot-powered email service that
is simultaneously accessible world-wide and still provides short
response times by redirecting users to the geographically-closest
cluster. We imagine the setup to make use of multiple data center
regions in public clouds around the world,

Instrumentation for metrics
Hi,
We serve a fairly substantial number[1] of ssh connections across our
fleet.? We have hit MaxStartups limits in the past and bumped it up a
few times (currently at 300), but we have no warning before the limit is
reached and connections start being dropped.? What I would love is some
sort of instrumentation that could let us see the highest number of
concurrent pre-auth connections the

Problem with 1.2 and sieve: failed with unsuccessful implicit keep
Hi,
First, thanks for this awesome piece of software.
I've just upgraded to latest dovecot, aka 1.2.
I've a problem. I've started using Sieve, and everything works fine, I
already received a thousand of mails without any problem.
However, there's one mail which is stuck in the postfix queue because of
that:

continuous integration - how do you do it?

In the absence of any clear picture about whether damagecontrol is a
practical option for continuous integration, I set up the following
scripts on my server to run the rails functional and unit tests each day
and mail me the results:

Build all NSD features by default
Hello NSD developers,
The new release candidate of NSD, with the new prometheus metrics feature,
got me thinking about NSD's feature set, and how so many of its features
have to be enabled at compile time. The result of of this is that NSD
packages on various operating systems behave differently. I would like to
propose that you adjust the build process to compile in *all* the features

Call Quality Measuring
Hi Patrick,
You are welcome to try our tools out for active and passive voice quality
measurement tools. It's waveform analysis (like PESQ or POLQA) and VoIP
metrics analysis (like G.107 E-model and other metrics).
