Blocking outgping caller id on a PRI E1
I am trying to block/hide outgoing caller id on a PRI E1.
It seems that it should be fairly simple, but it is defeating me.
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Function_CALLERID says:
"to hide your caller id, use: Set(CALLERID(num-pres)=prohib)"
That doesn't seem to do it.
The calls are originated from AMI and I have tried a blank "CallerId:" line and

AMD and fax detection
Is it feasible to enhance AMD to detect and report if the far end sends fax tones?
I am guessing that, as it is using DSP to detect sounds and periods of silence, the same DSP can also report if a CED tone is sent.
If it is feasible, is there a document describing the DSP interface that someone who is not familiar with DSP can use to get started?

Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64

The hypervisor loads OK but then fails to load my dom0 kernel. I get

AMI status events with res_fax_spandsp.so
Is anyone else using the AMI with res_fax_spandsp.so for real-time status?
I am working on migrating a FAX application from res_fax_digium.so to res_fax_spandsp.so. I have noticed that the spandsp module generates far fewer AMI status events than the Digium module and the generated events contain less information. For example when sending a fax there is no longer an event for every page. There

question about PSTN pickup
hi all,
you'll have to excuse the ignorance (i'm a software guy, not a telcom
guy..)
Is there any way to know if a channel has been answered by an automatic
system (like voicemail) rather than a human being?
Specifically, I want to use a .call to make a call on a channel and only do
something if a person answers, not a machine of any kind. Is this even
possible, or is an answered

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Sorry for the delay, we were too busy drinking and playing with explosives
yesterday. :)
Here are some tests. We did one on a similar machine and it worked.
We deleted the configuration file, obviously.

Moving the Home dir to new server
I have a new Centos installation that has an empty /home dir and there
are no users...just root. I want to move the home directory from
another server to the new one. At this time the old /home directory has
been tarred with "-prf". That will keep permissions which could be a
problem.
Is there a simple way to move the /home directory? And the non-system

Hi all,
i'm trying to make AMD, Answer Machine Detection, to work on my

like whe i use the application Answer before AMD, but i need to make AMD
to do the detection on an outbound predictive dialer integration. Follow

AMD with analog lines - DIALSTATUS empty
Hello,
I would like to use AMD on outgoing calls using analog line. I tested
with SPA3102 and cisco2811 as gw and asterisk 1.8.26.1 as well as 11.8.1
Other end is analog number behind another cisco/asterisk, also tested
calling a mobile number with the same result.
What I did: dial is done like exten => s,n,Dial(SIP/<IP gw>/<dialed
number>,,M(myMacro)), which tell Asterisk to

AMD
Hi
I am using the AMD application in a power dialing.
All works well when I use an internal extension but when I try to use an
external number, the AMD every times returns non human status. Also the
AMDCAUSE returns Total-Time-5500. I am using the default parameters in
AMD.CONF.
Anybody has some idea?
Thanks
Sergio

AMD reporting NOTSURE most of the time
I am running Asterisk and using Answer machine detection with call files on
a virtual Vcloud server running Centos 5.3 and LAMP. I am finding that AMD
is only detecting HUMAN or MACHINE for about 30% of the calls (I sent over
50,000 outbound calls last week, and 70% said NOTSURE).
I have a suspicion that the problem may be due to the timing source on
virtual server when its under load delivering

GNU GOOSe apparently needs help (fwd)
Apologies for cross-posting ...
This project is looking for a maintainer. To quote from the Goose web

To create a useful and complete system that takes advantage of C++'s
features to improve the clarity of statistical code and that is easier to

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
I'm not exactly sure what you need. Is this it?
ISOLINUX 4.06 0x513e88f5
isolinux: Starting up, DL = 82
isolinux: Loaded spec packet OK, drive = 82
isolinux: Main image LBA = 0000011D
isolinux: Main image read, jumping to main code...
I created an iso with isolinux-debug.bin as the boot loader and booted it
on that machine. If this is not what you are looking for, what are correct
steps?

Same CD. Any Linux distribution without the 5.X series boots on this
machine. We can use 4.06 and it boots just fine. It's not the computer's
hardware. Like I said, we can take the CD out of the GX620 and place it in
the 9010 and it boots. Put 4.06 on the CD, and they both boot.
